Game of Thrones. So despite the suggestion that the shows are on this list because they're behind paywalls, only three of them are. I guess it's to do with not being on Netflix and services like that. The article also suggests that Game of Thrones gets a lot of illegal downloads in Australia became they get it a week later than everywhere else. www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20836739

I only watch Walking Dead (legally). The showtime/hbo shows I understand a little better because they're pay channels, but all the Network shows - that's just being super lazy.

I just started watching Game of Thrones yesterday. Awesome show. I don't download but I guess watching it online not via official website still counts as that lol.

Could be because there is no way to view them legally. I'm not tech savvy but when I finished HIMYM season 6 on Netflix, I searched for anyway to get caught up on season 7 and then catch them as they air but I couldn't find anything. Especially true for those shows that have an on going story like Breaking Bad. Luckily when I finished that on Netflix, the new episodes were On-Demand and I got caught up with the airings.... Sucks when networks wait until a new season to release the DVDs or to stream. I'm sure this example is prob the minority in illegal downloads, but it's out there.

Doesn't CBS put all their shows on their website the next day?

People I know who download shows illegally do it because they're unable to watch when the episode airs so the next day they download it.

Those numbers are global. So I guess a lot of them are non-US residents whose TV schedules are lagging behind by years if they're airing the show at all.

Also we want to get caught up with the show by watching from the beginning and Network sites don't work in Canada nor it's not on Canadian Netflix. Hence downloading.

Yeah in the UK Dexter is nearly a year behind. I think Breaking Bad is similarly late and never seems to be repeated (since I've been looking out for it).
