No this isn't about some new tasty treat at Dairy Queen, but about the blizzard that I'm right in the path of. We're expected to get about 8 inches of snow overnight with winds potentially reaching 50 MPH or more.
I'm glad I'm off work til Friday.

We were predicted to get 8 inches in my state today. Got less than an inch from what I saw.

Have trouble thinking of anything less than 18 inches as a 'blizzard'.

Have trouble thinking of anything less than 18 inches as a 'blizzard'. It's not so much the amount of snow, but rather the visibility and winds. All you need for blizzard conditions are: -Sustained 35 mph+ (56 kph+) winds for 3+ hours -Visibility under 1/4 mile (.4 km) during said time period Anything else, beyond the need for some snow, is not considered.

Have trouble thinking of anything less than 18 inches as a 'blizzard'. Yeah. 8 inches is typical for a regular New England storm. Though this winter and last have been shockingly light on snow. And the dusting we got yesterday is the 1st "White Christmas" we've had here in years.

There's really only been one year where we didn't get any at all, but then every 4 years or so we get crushed. Had a year (want to say 2007) where we got nothing the entire winter, but then got over a foot on April 14.

All I can say is that when I was trying to clear the parking lot around my car to make a path to the plowed area is that the snow was at least 12 inches in the shallow spots and over 18 inches in most spots. Some of that might have been drifted snow, but I still had to break my back shoveling it.

We only got about half an inch.
Which is good, because we didn't get that huge ass blizzard that blasted the Northeast a few years ago.

Expected to get about an inch or two of mixed stuff. We ended up getting about 4 inches of snow and rain out the ass.

Getting a lot here and the wind is bad. The commute to work is not going to be fun in the morning. Be safe everyone!

You know the real pisser of it all? My wife and I both spent a little over an hour making is so that both of our cars can leave tomorrow, but once we leave someone else will take those parking spaces and we have to clear out two new spots. I happens every freaking year.
