I'll reiterate the point I made in another thread
The reason I do not want to see Punk to beat The Rock is because Cena is miles above Punk in terms of star power and such and deserves to beat The Rock before he does. I'd find it to be a load of bullshit for Punk to beat the guy when Cena had to lose to him.
And for all of the people saying how Punk's title reign is so amazing and should end to a regular superstar, I guess it really just does come down to days and not what happens in the title reign now doesn't it? Everyone complains about any reign that doesn't last half a year and because it's so long it's the most magical reign in history despite him not winning a clean title match since the summer

Punk loses the belt just to win it back 2 months later? That's perfect? Rock still gets to go into Wrestlemania with the WWE title, so as to temporarily boost PPV buyrates. The WWE doesn't really seem to care about anything else during Mania season. Any sort of logical booking doesn't matter as long as they get those million+ buys.

Also for me personally I've found a majority of Punk's title defenses to be mediocre or worse. His best stuff was against Henry and Cena.
The Bryan feud was just dull and the matches were just ok.

I guess Cena's winning the Rumble then. At this point, Cena winning the rumble would be much better than the rumble winner challenging for the second rate World Heavyweight Championship. Anyone else who wins and chooses NOT to fight for the biggest prize in the company against the Rock, John Cena, or even end CM Punk's long reign should he still be champion, just looks stupid. This times a thousand.

Honestly,I don't know what match between them you'd be impressed with if you didn't with their match at OTL. Chicago Street Fight with Jericho was great too.

Punk will retain at the rumble due to Cena inadvertently costing the Rock the match - I'm think a Shield beatdown on the rock whilst the ref is down, Cena runs down and helps Rock clean house with a chair. In comes Punk to sneak attack Rock, Cena tries to get him with a chair but whacks Rock. Down comes another ref (say Brad Maddox?) and counts to 3. Punk retains, Rock is pissed and did Cena just turn heel!?
Or Rock just squashes Punk.

Cena's the only one in forever and ever to initially challenge for the WWE Championship since Benoit started the loophole.
Benoit went after HHH Batista went after HHH Rey/Randy went after Kurt Taker went after Batista Cena went after Orton Orton went after the Edge to avoid HHH, but changed his mind after making his decision Edge went after Jericho Del Rio went after Edge Sheamus went after Bryan

They have a chance to make a new star with whoever beats Punk. If they opt to go with Rock it's monumentally dumb.

This opens the door for Undertaker vs Punk, which is what I would do. Basically, I would have Punk take some time off after Mania though, because it's important to keep him very strong after his title reign, not to mention strong for Undertaker. Punk and Cena are the only two that could be a threat to the streak, so it needs to be either of them.

As a Rock fan, I'd rather he not end Punk's reign. He would gain nothing from it and make the current roster look like a joke. But at the very least I look forward to Rock/Punk more than Rock/Cena 2 or Rock/Lesner 2.

I still think the best solution would be for Brock Lesnar to cost Rock the title by interfering at Royal Rumble.
Then have Rock vs. Lesnar, and Cena vs. Punk, or even Ryback vs. Punk with Punk dropping the belt at 'Mania.

Even though I'd mark for a short time is Rock won, it'd make the rest of the roster look terrible. "Hey, none of you could beat him, so we had to go drag DWAYNE away from Hollywood to do it!"

I don't think Rock winning the belt from Punk would necessarily make the rest of the roster look terrible for failing to do the same. Punk never beat Cena or Ryback clean. And you could always have one or both guys "help" Rocky win the title by stopping a Shield run-in or Brad Maddox shenanigans or whatever.

I was talking about a hypothetical situation which would have Punk vs Rock again at Wrestlemania with him winning the title back.

Not exactly new news since everyone predicted this months ago. Exactly. People predicted it essentially as soon as Rock announced he would be wrestling the WWE Champion at Rumble.

This whole thing would be a colossal disappointment if they really do go ahead with Rock/Cena II. I mean how obvious is it that Rock would lose this one? We didn't know for sure with the last one, which made it fun. But this time around...there's no friggin' way Cena is losing to Rock again. And this ain't exactly a Streak match we're talking about here, which is an exception to the predictability rule due to the nature of what it is.
The enjoyment of this falls entirely on Rock. If Rock is the one to end Punk's reign at RR, then he should be on the televised show until WM29, and compete on Raw and Main Event once in a while just like everyone else. If he isn't committing to one last actual 'run' with the company, just have Punk pull the surprise win at Rumble and do a triple threat with Rock and Cena at WM29, and drop the title there.
