I remember that it was announced that the NWA was sold earlier this year, but I don't think the amount ever came out. Anyone know an exact or a ball park figure?

The original offer was thee crayons and a carton of milk.
Though they did manage to deal their way up into making it a chocolate milk instead.

Well, what happened was there was a lawsuit and since Bob Trobich was found guilty and couldn't afford to pay x amount of dollars they took his assets one being the NWA.
So it wasn't actually sold for a legitimate figure but I did hear a rumor that Trobich owed around 50-60 thousand dollars so I'd say at least half of that was the NWA.

$0.00. Somehow a lawsuit over insurance coverage led to the Tharpe Idiot in Houston winning the rights to the NWA trademarks.

So the NWA is worth about $60,000 tops? I bet that is about the licensing fee to use an NWA rap song in a movie

NWA wishes they were worth $60,000. After pissing off NWA Hollywood and causing them to leave the Alliance, and the debacle over the NWA World title, there worth is no where near that.

I'm sure Bob Trobich had x amount of dollars in cash and NWA was used to pay off the rest of the debts. If you take into account what the NWA has in terms of assets and the profit it makes each year it wouldn't be worth that much. It has about 20 members that pay 300 bucks each and a few replica belts (None of the belts the NWA Board of Directors has are from the 80's) I don't think the actual owners of the NWA own a Wrestling Ring let alone anything else. The NWA doesn't even have merchandise if you check their website. I'd say the NWA's actual net worth would be around the 15,000-20,000 dollar mark.

You mean for less than the cost of my student loans I could have bought the NWA? Man, over time college just seems like more and more of a jip!

The NWA was sold for $5. Which was then used for milk, flour, and vitamins and boiled into energy balls which would sustain Trobich for about a month.

It's not worth much anymore. Sure it has a rich history but the best years for it was 20 years ago. Unless you count TNA when they used the belts. Which ok then it was worth something because the PPV and TV expose but it was never a non TNA guy challenging for for from another brand of the NWA banner.
What it's worth now is barely nothing since what happened with NWA Hollywood. When they had names fans know and are interested in seeing.

I just rememebered the reason a lot of promotions cut ties and subsequently started this lastest downward spiral when reading through NWA's Wiki page.
The NWA switched from a membership model to a licensing model, which made their most popular promotion NWA Hollywood leave and some other ones as well. Does anyone know what this means exactly? I didn't really care enough to look into it when it first happened, but now I'm somewaht curious.

Well it was about that this time I realized that the President of the NWA was about 50 feet tall and a dinosaur from the paleolithic era.
