I read that as "Horny Coroner Robert Edge" and then I realized that would make a great opponent for Kane and the Undertaker. As for the usual Ghidorah argument, I say keep posting these stories, the world needs to hear them.

I like King. He's a cool guy and all but I understand how some people would get tired of this. While I have no issue with any of it, there has to be some kind of compromise to keep everyone happy.

I don't agree that King needs his own thread for depressing news stories. A lot of his posts spark great conversation and I feell much of those posts would go ignored in an all purpose depressing news thread. You can't really define what's depressing and what isn't. For instance these threads don't bother me, but threads about D&D depress me because it makes me feel bad for the people that post in them and how they will never know how awesome it is to actually speak to a person of the opposite sex.

That was clearly a joke. I'm just trying to get the point across that what's depressing to one isn't depressing to everyone, so making a thread for only "depressing" posts makes zero sense.

^ Well said.
I'm not a fan of the threads created here for the sole purpose of being wacky, but since it's not doing anything to harm me, I accept it like anybody else would accept threads that they're not interested in. I think it'd be possible to do the same for news threads centered around the terrible, weird things people do.
I find it hard to believe that Ghidorah's threads are really that harmful that we can't even bear to look at a title. Surely, we must realize by now that s*** happens every day?

It does make sense when a singular poster is cluttering up the forum with threads of that type. And note I never said an all purpose depressing news thread, but an all purpose Ghidorah depressing news thread, so only the ones from Ghidorah. He literally posts at least one daily, so letting him do it all over the place is creating a lot of threads.

Just because it happens every day doesn't mean we want to know about it. I don't know about you, but I come here to get away from that kind of crap. I don't come here to see, for example, that a little kid shot himself. Off Topic was a happy, care free place to hang out in before Ghidorah arrived. Now it is depressing news central with light hearted stuff sprinkled in.

Can't you put someone on an ignore list in your profile? Just do that so you never get your cheerios pissed in again by reading a depressing ghidorah thread.
After checking I can't find an option for ignoring a poster so nevermind.

Ghidorah doesn't go overboard with the threads, people go overboard posting about how much they hate the threads.
I'm sorry, he's not breaking any rules or doing anything wrong. I'm a little unnerved about how people don't want these threads or those threads here.
If "I" chose to take away threads I don't like it'd be like this...
-Pony threads...gone -anime... buh bye -relationship advice...not here -sex..I don't want to know your sex secrets -boy meets world threads...I hated that show -simpsons quotes...I get it! The goggles do nothing!
But you know what? Outside of getting too graphic about sex (I meant it, I don't want to know what you do with yourself) I don't put an end to those threads.
I LIKE the diversity here, and don't want one thing or another banned because a few of you don't like it. Make the extra effort to ignore those threads or maybe Proboards v.5 will have a feature to take care of that for you.

The only solutions I can see are to either make an all purpose Ghidorah thread or make an entirely new sub forum dedicated exclusively to threads about news stories. The latter one is probably the one that will leave everyone happy. All the news threads are still on the forum but no longer plaguing Off Topic. Everyone wins. Mods you really should consider making a news sub forum.

You could give news threads their own sub forum like you did for forum games, you know.......it would make things easier for everyone.

I'm like Madison in that I don't like splintering everything into it's owqn little section to watch some sections die. Then someone would want a sub forum for this, and a subforum for that. I'll talk to the mods about it, but my own personal opinion is that some of you are going overboard.

I've tried my damnedest to just ignore these kind of threads, but as already said, it is kind of hard to ignore these threads when you are looking through the various thread titles and then see one of Ghidorah's titles that sums up the content of the story inside anyways. Like today I was looking through thinking to myself, "Hmm I want to see what new replies are in that thread about character types people hate. Let's see, Pony thread, character types you like, the NFL thread, a toddler grabbed a gun and shot himself............*sigh* god damn it, Ghidorah........." You can't just simply ignore it when you are looking through the thread titles.

Personally, I have to agree with the idea that the thread titles showing the story and what its about is the problem. Not saying not to post it or anything, since sometimes it's kind of ridiculous and it happens in life, but do we really need that kind of negativity? Just my thoughts.

This thread needs balance. Here, have something adorable. Cute is much too empty to combat despair.
