Much like WWE, their numbers are also down. It's a continuing decline in the professional wrestling business.

I feel TNA's issue is worse, because they had a core audience of 1.1. I mean, good lord, how many 1.1s have they had in their life cycle as a show? It was a joke around here for awhile. And averaging below that is a bad sign.

Part of me wants to laugh at them, but November 2011 is when my beloved Bobby Roo began his title reign so instead I'm just sad that he may be blamed.

Now that is depressing. The programming on TNA is quite solid and the wrestling is quite good.

One thing they need to do is stop starting the show with promos, especially ones involving Brooke Hogan. Seriously, as soon as she came out tonight, I turned the channel and didn't go back (because I forgot, but still).

This reminds of wrestling in the early to mid 90s.
The WWE currently seems to be so obsessed with doing business a certain way, that nothing really changes.
For a boom period to happen, something big has to happen.
The money TNA is spending on RVD, Hogan, Anderson etc, is better off being used to get an actual start from WWE, and NOT their cast offs. CM Punk would go to TNA, if the company was being run properly. You can't tell me, he would not follow Heyman there. MUCH lighter schedule, and a little creative insight could even benefit his career.
Not giving Paul Heyman what he wanted, could be the companies downfall.

How could going to TNA "help Punk's career?" He's been the champion on the biggest show of the biggest wrestling company in the world for 400 days. How would throwing that all away to get stuck wrestling Masked Man #6 from Aces and 8's to a dwindling audience help him?

Punk is aiming too high, but I agree that they should definitely be more interested in poaching a legit star instead of a guy WWE fired. Hell, I'd consider Christian and Jeff Hardy to be two of TNA's most profitable acquisitions and they were both guys who jumped to TNA because they wanted to, not because they couldn't get another job.

I think the move to 8:00 was a big mistake. TNA's ratings have never really recovered from that move. They used to have a solid 1.1-1.3 a week but they lost viewers when they moved. Why on earth haven't they moved back to 9:00?
I'm not sure how to account for the downturn in live gates though. Perhaps signing too many guys that work few dates? It's the WCW mentality for killing house show business.

When you are doing house shows and the biggest names on the card are Mr Anderson, Crimson, and Gunner; don't be surprised about the low number of turnouts.

The actual Nielsen numbers aren't surprising: the move to 8pm meant that that number would go lower no matter what, since there's a lot more competition and more eyes watching then. That said, the hard viewership numbers also clearly dipped, which IS an issue.
