Not to veer off-topic too much (and no pics in the answers, PLEASE), but just how many people kissed/were supposed to kiss Vince's ass?

I havent read this interview in years. Was anyone as startled as me about how adamant Vince was about not being PC and pushing the envelope? When looking at the product now, which is the real Vince? Was he bs'ing during this time period because that was what was making him money? Or was he forced to conform years later? I just don't understand about how he could talk about pushing the envelope with such gusto then, but be so against it now days.

It might explain Linda's two runs for the U.S. Senate; there's no way he'd have let her spend nearly a billion on the two campaigns unless the alternative was an extremely messy scandal that could, theoretically, destroy all that Vince spent thirty-five years building. If one person could bring him down, it's Linda.
Whatever shenanigans have gone on at WWE over the years, I think that Vince was either party to it or knew and allowed it. I suspect, though, that the environment for that will change dramatically once Stephanie and Trips take over the helm. HHH would never risk his marriage or his spot that and Steph would never tolerate from her husband what she had to from her father. Besides, they know that women's wrestling is far better in the indies than what WWE is currently offering and that ridding WWE of Moolah's shadow is essential to fixing that once and for all.

I suggested that aj had been involved with vince resulting in her push and flame throwed. Makes sense to me though. I think the problem with that is in the absence of evidence it plays into the idea that women can only achieve success through providing sexual favors to powerful men. While it's certainly odd how they took her out of the blue and centered the product around her with the kind of spotlight that no woman has ever received in modern pro wrestling it's insulting to all women to jump to the conclusion that she's there because she's sleeping with someone. There are enough rumors surrounding many of the most successful women in the wwe/wrestling in general, that IN MY OPINION substantiates my theory about AJ using favors to get to where she is right now. Seemingly/Allegedly/Supposedly, but NOT factually Sunny, Sable, Trish, Michelle Mccool, Lita, the Bellas etc have done it to get their spot and none of them ever had the type of focus AJ has. I apologize to you that you feel insulted as a woman, but you are not a woman in the wrestling business that is made up of scum stories of sex and drugs and other dastardly bs to get a spot, keep a spot etc. It is just my opinion that has become an even stronger one after reading other posts in this thread that AJ is where she is right now because of casting couch. Sorry if that offends you. It's just my theory.
