This was the show that made CM Punk and irreparably broke WWECW. Vince knew exactly what he was doing. Have a hoss-irrific main event in the damn Hammerstein Ballroom without an ECW Original in sight. Use the legendary crowd reaction to justify: 1) Never booking the Hammerstein again, 2) Moving December to Dismember to Georgia, 3) Never taping ECW separately from Smackdown, ensuring you have a WWE mark audience instead of the ECW smarks, 4) Using the preceding three items to force your vision on Heyman and make ECW into a watered down WWE-style program. Because of this, we never had this rowdy atmosphere in WWECW again, which was most of the charm of those first two One Night Stands. I try my best not to believe in conspiracies, but...damn if I haven't thought this was true for the longest time. It gave WWE their out to do the whole "Make ECW a Global Sports-Entertainment Brand" thing.

That show also gave me the theory that if the original ECW was still going, 2006 CM Punk would be its main star
