His repetition is something else. It's not just weekly, he says some jokes 2-3 times in a show and just applies them to different situations. He's always done that. Like during his original run he'd bring up Guerrero meant warrior in Spanish when Chavo was on TV. Every single time No it's different from that. I don't mind that, and quite like the consistency in fact. I wish I could think of a specific example, but I remember him doing it last week where he said a joke during a match targeted towards one wrestler, then later on when they were doing a recap of a different storyline he made the same joke towards another wrestler.

He's still very good, but I think he works best with Cole and not Josh.

Sadly I agree... and I was among JBL's biggest fans during his original run as Smackdown commentator. Maybe nothing's changed but he grates on me now... Mainly because he constantly picks on Josh out of nowhere for no good reason and repeats the line "We fight on Friday night" over and over again.
Hopefully it's just a bit of rustiness and he'll be back to the JBL of 2006-07 again soon.

Mainly because he constantly picks on Josh out of nowhere for no good reason. Josh has it coming for generally being a less antagonistic version of Cole. I'll never forget him shitting all over Scott Stanford when Stanford mentioned during a DH Smith vs. William Regal match that Smith's father British Bulldog faced Regal at Halloween Havoc 1993. "lol halloween havoc? wat a nerd who cares!!"

He was pretty s*** on Smackdown tonight. Maybe he hates working with Josh Mathews and having to put over such a boring show as a big deal. I think he's better on PPV, he's a great buffer between Cole and King and can relate to both of them well. This. Not saying Josh Mathews is a bad commentator, but there doesn't seem to be a lot for JBL to work off of the way him and Cole did and JBL is a LOT better on PPVs. I think Mathews is the next to get the axe from the commentary booth, JR and JBL on Fahtin awn Frahday Naht would be ideal.

He's still very good, but I think he works best with Cole and not Josh. He's the best WWE has by far unless they let Booker T be his crazy gangsta Main Event Mafia self.

Even with the flaws yeah JBL is still the best color guy in the WWE right now. He should be on RAW with Cole and they can have King try to salvage Josh Matthews' career because Josh is probably close to bringing a gun to the commentary desk and blowing John C. Layfield's head off the next time he says 'dollah with a dime!'

Maybe it's just a Smackdown thing? I only tune in for the occasional RAW and most of the PPVs and when he's on either of those I absolutely love what he does.

He's terrible. It sounds like they had him say a few dozen things in a studio and use them over and over again for his commentary. It used to just be "MAGGLE.. GUERRERO MEANS WARRIOR..." and now it's just "BLEH EAT ME"

Yeah back in 2007 he was real quality. He's either being told to be different or just doesn't have a feel for the product at the moment.

I still like him, maybe it's because I'm getting kind of tired of King and Cole, but he seems like the best thing on commentary to me, I'm still laughing from his "I should be a one man booth".
