I haven't seen any discussion about this so far, so I thought it was worth asking.
Honestly, the only really great TV match I even remember this year was Sheamus vs. Jericho.

Fella and Orton had a pretty good tv match as well. There is also the bryan and Ziggler match on raw that was pretty good.

Punk and Bryan had two great matches on Raw and Smackdown before their feud actually started so those.
Punk vs Mark Henry a couple of times on Raw too was also very good.

Sheamus and Bryan had a FCA #RAWActive match on Raw 1001 I think that was excellent. I'd also throw in Cena/Punk MITB cash in match as well.

Mark Henry vs. CM Punk for the WWE title was much better than I thought it could ever be.

Any Bryan & Punk match they had on Raw was great all year around.

Some notable TV matches:
Any of the Henry/Punk matches Sheamus vs. DB at RAW 1001 (This would be my personal pick for TV MOTY but I'm biased since I saw it live) Cena vs. DB The Punk/Bryan matches before they started duking it out on PPV

The Punk/Bryan matches when they were both champions are among the finest television matches in years.
That being said I still cannot believe that the WWE were capable of making me bored to tears of Punk VS Bryan. They must of been involved in a match against one another in some sort of capacity at least 10 times over then span of like 3 months.

Also I wouldn't call them MOTY contenders or anything, but I thought the Tensai/Sheamus matches earlier in the year when Tensai returned were really good too. Sheamus has really shown to have great chemistry with the bigger guys.

Some favorites of mine: - Miz vs Kofi from Main Event (IC title match)
- Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan (street fight)
- Rey Mysterio vs Bryan
- Punk vs Bryan (numerous matches on Raw and SD in early '12)
- Cena vs Bryan
- Ziggler vs Orton (on both Raw and SD)
- Ziggler vs Jericho (Raw, Jericho's last match)
- Cesaro vs Kofi on Main Event (it got turned into a tag match later on)
- Punk vs Ziggler (WWE title - first Raw of 2012, their late 2011 match was better, though)
- Sheamus vs Tensai (SD)
- Del Rio vs Sin Cara (their most recent one on Raw...not the one where Del Rio accidentally pulled off Cara's mask)
My memory isn't so good with dates and all that. I'm leaving out a lot of solid SD matches. There was a really good 4-way tag match with The Epic Primos as tag champions earlier this year, too.

Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler on Main Event I think could be in competition with Sheamus/Bryan

I love the Henry vs Punk series, everything David vs Goliath matches should be.
I also think Cesaro vs Sheamus, Ziggler vs Jericho, Punk vs Bryan and the Miracle on 34th Street Fight all deserve honorable mentions

Although they're not quite as good as matches already listed I want to give an honourable mention to:
Sheamus vs Sandow Slater vs Lita

From what I can glean from this, Sheamus' stellar ringwork is some sort 'devil at the crossroads' pact, where he must have an awful character in return.

Given how little I've watched this year, let's just say.... Slater / Vader. In truth it's probably some Bryan or Sheamus match.

Either the Sheamus vs. Bryan street fight match or Del Rio vs. Cena Miracle on 34th Streetfight. One was an intense near falls match, the other was possibly the greatest comedy match ever.
