I've noticed the last several weeks King is trying to squeeze in as many terrible jokes as possible, & Cole keeps laughing uncontrollably. At one point last week, right at the start of the show I believe, Cole made a comment about "breaking the record". I can only assume they're trying to see how many bad jokes they can get in.

Maybe with the three-hour Raw, they're in f*** it territory and just entertaining themselves.

I don't blame 'em.

I know Cole/Lawler were forced to laugh on the Mae Young segment, but damn has King been bringing up bad jokes lately. And I like it.

With JBL is with them (as he was a few weeks ago) it REALLY comes across as "f*** this commentary." I know Cole/Lawler were forced to laugh on the Mae Young segment, but damn has King been bringing up bad jokes lately. And I like it. Jerry was laughing? He had a slightly amused "wtf" look on his face, but Cole was the one....."laughing."

Action: Almost die on Raw. Reaction: Get free reign to tell awful jokes. Makes sense.

His jokes were terrible, but coming off the Mae Young segment King told that joke that was like, "I wish the doctors in Canada hadn't saved me..."
I'll admit, I laughed.

I find Lawler's corny jokes hilarious, personally. Adds something enjoyable to the commentary.

Lawler's jokes were terrible for so long they looped all the way back into being funny.
It's stockholm syndrome, 'is what I'm getting at.

Lawler's been pretty good since returning. He seems happy to be alive, so maybe that just makes him appreciate stuff more.

Didn't he make these jokes like 2 weeks ago or were they different bands?
Edit: Wasn't one of them like "But we never took off"

I thought he said White Line. Thought King was going to make an Attitude Era type pun, but he went PG.

I really like the dynamic they have now on commentary, as since Lawler's heart attack they can't pretend they hate each other so instead it's corny jokes and light ribbing. It's way more fun than when Cole was playing heel.
