WWE Interested In Signing Another Indy Star

Found this on another forum. From wrestlingnewsworld.com (semi-reliable atleast to me).

We’re told given Rey Mysterio’s recent issues (personal) and the knee injury to Sin Cara, WWE is looking to sign a new high flyer.
One name mentioned as being the top guy on their radar is Samuray Del Sol from Dragon Date USA. We’re told WWE has been in contact with Del Sol but have not made a formal offer. However, he’s the guy atop their wish list.

WWE are interested in signing Dragon Gate USA talent Samuray del Sol, a name that has risen in popularity this year. The feeling is that with Rey Mysterio getting older and Sin Cara not getting over as they had expected him to be, that Del Sol would be a new and welcome addition to the WWE roster.

Another name that is at the top of the WWE’s list of masked wrestlers is El Generico, who was last seen inside a ring at the ROH Final Battle 2012 iPPV, where he lost to Kevin Steen. No formal offer has been made to either man, however WWE are said to have had contact with Del Sol in recent weeks.

What about Jay Lethal? He's not even thirty yet, plus he's practically TV ready. Not to mention he's more than charismatic enough to avoid getting pigeon-holed as "that flying guy."

I listened to the MLW podcast where Konnan and Gabe put Del Sol over huge.

With Generico, he doesn't have the look and that's my fear with WWE. It's sad that WWE has become so bad with cookie cutter wrestlers, that a moustache is now a gimmick.

It's funny, because I feel like a Canadian luchador who speaks Spanish is TOTALLY the kind of comedy character they'd make. Maybe they're just jealous they didn't get to it first.

Also, while we're on the subject of great talents WWE hasn't signed, why haven't they picked up Alex Shelley yet!?

Which gives reason to believe that Generico wouldn't do well in WWE, at least not under his current gimmick. Vince would need to find something new and "original" for him so he can take credit if the new gimmick gets over. Obviously that may not happen but it shouldn't surprise anyone if it did.
