Never self diagnose you based on the internet ever. One day you'll have a really bad cough and running nose and Web Medical Doctor will diagnose you with Brain Cancer. Honestly see a doctor for official diagnoses.

Honestly, its almost impossible not to have aspergers with the amount of symptoms it has.

As someone who's been professionally diagnosed since 14 (currently 25), please go get a professional diagnosis. The internet a terrible place to get information about these things from and the absolute worst place to be broadcasting that you "might have it". The internet has been absolutely awful to just about everyone who has openly come out that they have it because it's seen as "just social awkwardness".

Just read a couple of articles over the internet about Aspergers Syndrome and I am fairly certain I may have the syndrome Isn't this usually what happens to about 75% of the people who claim to have Aspergers? I'd get myself officially checked out before jumping to conclusions or even freaking out; the symptoms can be misleading.

Honestly see a doctor for official diagnoses. This. I can understand getting curious and looking up symptoms, I've been there myself, but 99% of the time all self-diagnosis is good for is to scare the ever living shit out of you. If you do think that you have Asperger's, or any disease at any given time, going and seeing an actual medical professional is better for you and your sanity. Self diagnosis is only going to scare you.

It's not a death sentence. It's not even a disease.

The internet has been absolutely awful to just about everyone who has openly come out that they have it because it's seen as "just social awkwardness". I think that can be partially attributed to some who are just nerdy saying they have Aspergers. It is easy for something to become the "diagnosis du jour", wasn't so long ago that ADHD was supposedly running rampant. Only a trained professional can diagnose whether you are neurologically atypical or not. Too many "cry wolf" and it makes things harder for those that are actually autistic.

It depends where on the scale people fall as well. Some people who are just socially awkward can fall on the Autistic spectrum, but it takes more than that to indicate full on aspergers or any of the other conditions that fall on the spectrum.
Aspergers just happens to be the current 'in' condition, and certainly, and unfortunately, some people do use it to cover up the fact they simply want some attention or are mentally ill in very different ways.

research the symptoms of any neurological disease and you can convince yourself you have it.

I can tell you that having a diagnosis like that isn't the end of the world. It's been more of a blessing for me than a curse. I wish you the best of luck.

Given the way that many doctors seemingly over-diagnose things like ADHD nowadays, I'm skeptical as to the legitimacy of medical knowledge for the purpose of determining if someone has Asperger's or not.
Then again, I like to read Foucault, so this skepticism is automatically doubled.

Being diagnosed with this was one of the best things that ever happened to me, because it explained so much behaviour. I then basically taught myself not to behave like that and it made me a lot happier.
