Good solid show to start off the year. The Kidd/Gabriel vs Ohno/Kruger match was great, and I'm glad they've finally caught up with the main shows and have Rollins in Shield gimmick. Also is it just me or has Richie Steamboat not been on the show in over a month? Last thing I remember him doing was helping Trent Baretta beat Kassius Ohno.

Steamboat's been injured since October, Ohno was given TV credit for putting him out of action.
Really enjoyed the Kidd/Gabriel vs. Ohno/Kruger tag, very nearly reached **** status too, but the ending was a bit rushed. Loved Gabriel's dive through Kidd's legs onto Ohno, that needs to be a GIF.
Main event was pretty good, even with the heel vs. heel dynamic, and the Shield's beatdown of the roster only to back down when Big E Langston came out was pretty well done.

Holy s***! This week's NXT starts with the regular intro then it cuts NWO style to the ring where The Shield are beating up two people in the ring. I was like Shield's in the ring cutting a promo to Dusty Rhodes. Episode is epic already.

It's so weird how some wrestlers (ex. Jinder Mahal or Seth Rollins) have a gimmick one week then a different one the next.
That's the problem with filming so many episodes in advance.

I'm not sold on Corey Graves at all. Sometimes he looks so lost.
Is the lady in the yellow shirt the one screaming every week? Her reactions were awesome. She put her hand in front of her face and was shouting, "No! no! no!" when they were going to triple powerbomb Bo Dallas. Then it looked like she was screaming at Dusty to get help.

Dallas going "Hulk Hogan" on Epico was ridiculous, It felt so good watching him get the triple powerbomb

Really nice episode this week.
I'm calling this episode "The Shield Takeover".
Also I like how three guys just took care of the whole NXT roster minus Big E.

really good episode
disgusted at the Corey Graves haters. dude has charisma and skills (yeah he's small but not a high-flyer, is that so shocking?) in SPADES

He hasn't shown much charisma. He's done a few okay promos but other than that, he just shows people his knuckles. A few episodes back he was squashing some dude and it looked like he had no idea how to do the simplest move. it was like a chin lock or something. And he had that awkward pause with Rollins this week.

Some great stuff from The Shield this week, we even learned that their body armour isn't allowed in normal matches.
I think Cory Graves could do a great escaped/ex prisoner gimmick if he ever makes it to the main roster, he looks like he belongs in one of the recent Batman games. Maybe even have him be a criminal that Otunga got off on a technicality.

... a criminal that Otunga got off on a technicality. That sounds like a great way to introduce new people for a mid-card stable! Or, to take it further, you could have Otunga 'recruiting' for a top heel (ie Del Rio when they used to be affiliated). Top heel + Otunga (as weasel mouthpiece/ possible mid-level title threat) + Two tough new guys (as tag team/ muscle, before one eventually turns face and moves up the card as a 'reformed character'; think Batista)

I remember back before Corey Graves was on the roster, and he was going by the name Sterling Keenan. One time he had a dark match for the WWE and the person reporting about it obviously didn't hear them announce his name correctly, and thought he was called Sterling Fetus. Every time I see Graves, I have to say, "It's Sterling Fetus!!" I doubt that will change anytime soon.

It's so weird how some wrestlers (ex. Jinder Mahal or Seth Rollins) have a gimmick one week then a different one the next. That's the problem with filming so many episodes in advance. I think they have no choice but to do that. Full Sail probably lends their soundstage out to other clients, so they can't have WWE hogging it every week. If they taped weekly, they'd probably have to go on the road There is continuity if you look deeper. The motivation of The Shield is fighting perceived injustices. As NXT Champion, Seth Rollins has suffered major injustices. Rick Victor slapped him for no reason. A bunch of RAW and SmackDown Superstars, especially Jinder Mahal AND Michael McGillicutty, come to NXT trying to get an easy title win hoping that they, as main roster talent, could basically bully around and steamroll an entire roster of (in theory) lesser talents. And then Corey Graves attacked Rollins from behind in the last episode. Seth returns to NXT with his friends hoping to mete out retribution for the injustices he has suffered. The 3MB stable had actually already been established since September. However, the stable still had not gotten their leather pants and new theme song, and were still coming out to Heath Slater's theme, so of course Jinder and Drew would still use their individual themes when not teaming up. Jinder and Drew even worked together for a good portion of the Fatal 4 Way they were involved in. When Jinder attacked Drew, JR made a point to point out that it was every man for himself and alliances didn't matter. Big E Langston is a face on NXT, yet on the main roster, he associates himself with heels. However, Big E doesn't really have an established character on the main roster, and so far, he's just, "The Big Guy that Follows Dolph and AJ around". Is he AJ's friend, or is he doing it just because "The Crazy Chick wouldn't leave him alone" (hence his general stoic look of disinterest and or annoyance). Also, Vickie put a bounty out on Big E. So what better way to get back at Vickie than by hyping up Dolph and AJ's relationship and rubbing it in her face?
