I don't care if they are evil. Their prices are just to good not to appreciate. Plus, it wasn't even that good of a deal for Walmart prices, but I just got four good size cup cakes for $2 from there and I swear the first one I bit into was so tasty I had a slight orgasm.

RC10 is $1. Next cheapest in the area is $1.49. So, so worth it.

Yay for the discount DVD bin! It's where I've procured most of the films in my collection. Including the entire Shaft quadrilogy, all of the Prophecy movies, and several DVD movie bundles of multiple films sharing the same genre that I've never heard of. Will I ever watch them? Probably not, but who could pass up the bargain?

Funny enough the Wal-Mart in my town is so out of the way and so removed from the heart of the commercial district, that against all logic, we still have two K-Marts in business.

I appreciate having a couple items and the shortest wait in a line is 10 minutes because there's 4 lanes open out of the 30 they have. Oh...we're being serious?

I think they are evil. Having said that, I go there for toiletries, cleaning supplies, and paper products.

I used to work in the Wal-Mart toys department. Every night I still wake up screaming.

Not to sound elitist (or maybe to) but I can't stand going into a Walmart. It just feels so low rent. If it's possible for a store to have production values Target blows them away.

I will only go there if their is something there specifically I want that I can't get anywhere else in town and be fine in there otherwise I am not a fan of the place, the one where I live is always crowded with people who act like they have never been in a a store before.

I have never been bothered by the store itself... but the people that shop in my closest wal-mart all suffer from HUPTAS, to steal a phrasing from my father. Sure, it happens at other stores too but never to the degree as Wal-mart.

I can somehow appreciate the cornucopia of smells I get walking through Wal-Mart.
It's amazing how many different "flavours" the human body can develop when it's not cleaned properly.
But in all seriousness, WalMart is a good place to find terrible movies on the cheap.

As someone who doesn't have Walmarts in his country and has never stepped foot in one, what is it that makes them "evil"? Is it corporate greed? Harsh working environments? Bad prices etc?

Pretty much they are thought of as a small business killer and one have unethical business practice. Basically, Walmart moves into a town and builds a huge store. Their prices are so cheap and their selection so tremendous that they take all the business away from local companies. The companies then go out of business. Sometimes then people don't have enough money to spend enough at Walmart so Walmart then just leaves. What's left is a huge store that is too big for any business to occupy. The town is then left without businesses and a lot of jobs are killed. Still, as mentioned those cupcakes were delicious!

Bad prices etc? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_WalmartThe "Dead Peasant's Insurance" is probably my least favorite. Also, "On September 4, 2008, the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice ruled that Wal-Mart de Mexico, the Mexican subsidiary of Wal-Mart, must cease paying its employees in part with vouchers redeemable only at Wal-Mart stores."

I haven't really seen that one yet at my store (except for lack of work hours, but that got taken care of this year). Otherwise, I haven't been really treated badly by them.
