It's on the Raw 100th Blu-ray... AMAZING watch.
Just finished watching it a few minutes ago.
Anyone agree?

Legends Roundtable is one of my favourite things the company does.

Something interesting that Jim Ross says during that Roundtable on the Raw 100th Blu-ray that I found interesting was that there's wrestlers in the back today that don't do anything to improve and it pisses him off because they don't understand how huge of a stage WWE is and they don't take advantage of what they have.
They rather stay green, stay lowkey backstage, and not do anything to make themselves a star. And I was like "truuuuuuuu".

Legends Roundtable is one of my favourite things the company does. The heatseekers roundtable was DELICIOUS, even with Mick Foley saying he liked every guy they mentioned.

It tends to happen when you hire people that know nothing about wrestling other than Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and Rock. I am not saying people need to know about Puro, Lucha or things like that but they do need to know about the hard work, time and energy that those guys along with others put in to get where they are/were and I think his golden boy is prime example of that.

I like how J.R. also said that back during the Monday Night Wars, everyone in the locker room was a team and how they were all in to put away the assholes that were trying to put them out of business.
Unlike the "inmates running the asylum" mentality of WCW's locker room.
They were all pushing each other to be better or they would die trying. They were younger and hungrier than the old guard that jump ship for a guaranteed contract.
That made me miss competition and reminded me how TNA will never win over WWE because THEY ARE the older company filled with great minds but for the wrong reasons. Instead of putting over the younger talent, they rather put themselves over.
Not saying that WWE doesn't either, but if they want to be competitive that's what they need to be doing more of. They already have somewhat of an edge in the adult content so they have the attention of older, adult wrestling fans already.

I'm just speculating here, but I think it's just down to a lack of motivation.
During the Attitude Era you had guys coming and going on a weekly basis. Wrestlers were trading from WCW to WWF and vice-versa, and the industry was at an all time high when it came to competitiveness. To get over in the WWF midcard, for example, you really had to come up with a unique gimmick and move-set that would make you distinguishable. And more than likely you were given the freedom to run with some of those ideas because the WWF threw stuff at the wall until it stuck. They needed guys to come up with ideas in order to create an interesting product that would beat Nitro.
Now-a-days however with the industry being the way it is, there's not nearly as much of a drive to become successful and unique. We've heard many wrestlers and writers over the past few years saying how over-scripted and controlled the product is. People would come up with ideas and they would either be shot down completely, or given to another person. There's a good reason why FCW was bashed for creating generic CAW-like black trunk firsty Mclastname's. Full Sail NXT has seen this improve a little bit, but its still not great.
And with the way the business is now, people would rather be obedient and not speak up instead of taking a risk with upper management. What happens, for example, if you come up with a gimmick and it flops, and you get released because of it? Where else can you go, TNA? A company which is going nowhere? Or maybe work on the Indy Circuit for $100 a show.

It sucks that the business is what it is today.
I think 2006 was the last year WWE was really good because of the adult content.

Link: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fNd_lG0lkIgI miss TV-14 sometimes because they had the ability "to go there" with segments. Look how they talk about Edge's "shrinkage" and they actually showed that gay ass picture of Randy that leaked during that time. I'm not saying I want to SEE that and that's what I miss, but I just miss adult content. Remember when Vince lowkey became the devil in 2006-2007 with his feud with HBK and DX. 2005-2006 wasn't really bad as I remember because WWE still had their big names, and often you would see big names duke it out. They just don't have that star power anymore. But they could make new stars if the writing was better and everything was booked to perfection for a little period of time. And actually expand their trust onto other wrestlers and not just John Cena to carry the company.

Or maybe work on the Indy Circuit for $100 a show. Let me further extrapolate: the talent today have guaranteed contracts, whereas the superstars of that era didn't. Essentially, if they liked the money they got and are comfortable with their role, there's no sense in trying to break your ass going further. It seems as if the problem with the WWE lies with going full-on corporate in that respect.
