Who are the best and worst Japanese female wrestlers in history, or at least since the 1970s? I am watching a few matches and I have to say that the late Jackie Sato is quite good. She is a tough, skinny, capable wrestler. Meanwhile her partner Maki Ueda is good at getting beat up, but she is not as good as Jackie. I know they were a popular tag team in the 70s, so I cannot compare the wrestling in the 70s to wrestling today where fans see more styles of wrestling and where movesets are different.
To younger fans, the wrestling moves may not be very exciting and very limited compared to today with the more expanded movesets, and great athleticism. Which wrestlers should I look out for as far as today's wrestlers go? Which wrestlers are just bad in your opinion? I don't get to watch much Japanese wrestling unless it is on Youtube, so it is quite limited.
I noticed that there are some who are underrated like Combat Toyota and those who are rated just right, like Megumi Kudo. But are there wrestlers who are really bad in Japan? I'm sure there are, but I have noticed that Japanese wrestlers have more room to expand their movesets in the ring, they wrestle from the right, and they are incredibly strong despite the fact that some of them are quite small.
