I like Okada but really what's the point? He's basically gonna become a jobber/comedy character somewhere down the line. It's a shame really.

Isn't Rainmaker Okada meant to be awesome? Also, from the limited stuff I've seen, he has one hell of an awesome dropkick.

They have barely tried with Yoshi Tatsu, who fair enough wasn't much of a name in Japan either, but TAKA Michinoku was and became a comedy jobber once he joined Kaientai.

Isn't Rainmaker Okada meant to be awesome? Not only meant to be, he is. If they pushed Okada as a serious competitor he could be a good addition to the IC/US title scene right from the start. From there who knows.

It all depends on if they'd be ever willing to take him seriously. I think Tajiri is the only Asian wrestler to ever have been booked even reasonably credibly in the WWE, and even then, he was never really main event.

This should be his gimmick. No, not an ice cream lover. But that Hollywood lifestyle. Not like Alberto del Rio or JBL. A young, arrogant, rich douchebag. Stick some hot girls by his side, have him flaunt the cash, kinda like Desmond Wolfe and Magnus from the short lived London Brawling.

Taka was a billed 5'8, Okada's a billed 6'3 I believe. Totally different cases imo with a guy fighting the height stigma versus someone who's the type of tall, good looking performer WWE likes.

I hope he doesn't. It will pretty much ruin his career.

When TAKA was around the roster was absolutely stacked with talent, now it's easier. However, they haven't really done much with Tatsu. WWE could certainly do with some more Japanese wrestlers.

he'd be a good acquisition, if they treat him seriously and don't make him a joke. they should do with him what they did with Cesaro, basically bring him in as-is and don't change a thing about his character (though they'll probably give him a different name).

People keep saying "If WWE doesn't give him an awful character".
Guys...think about the likelihood of that for a second.
That said, Okada is the heir apparent to Hiroshi Tanahashi. New Japan will give him EVERYTHING to stay.

I don't want to sound bitter and cynical or say the WWE top brass are prejudiced, but if Okada goes to the WWE, his character is going to be: **A. Someone like Yoshi Tatsu, in a "I Japanese, I so Whacky! Hee hee hee!", guy. or **B. Someone in face paint and karate pants who sprays mists, does Hollywood karate moves and is the "Great SomethingOrAnother".

WWE's track record isn't that great, but eventually, they'll find a Japanese star they like enough to use somewhat decently.
Who knows when, though.

When Yoshi was first brought in he was booked pretty strong and actually was getting over on ECW. Then they had him do nothing. Such a shame
