I like Okada. And for that reason, I want him to stay as far away from WWE as possible.

That said, Okada is the heir apparent to Hiroshi Tanahashi. New Japan will give him EVERYTHING to stay. I thought that was Tetsuya Naito?

Sadly, WWE's use of Japanese wrestlers leads much to be desired, but considering how red hot Okada is, it makes me wonder if they may actually use him.
I'm not sure how big Yoshi Tatsu was during his run in New Japan, but I'm guessing it's nothing in comparison to Kazuchika Okada.
People have brought up Tajiri, Taka, Tatsu and you can name others, but none of the regularly used Japanese wrestlers were as big as Okada is, and that could be the difference.
It would be funny though if Okada got over as a mega star in WWE, just making TNA look even more foolish.

When Yoshi was first brought in he was booked pretty strong and actually was getting over on ECW. Then they had him do nothing. Such a shame Well that was everybody in ECW. Pretty much once they got to the main roster they were back to lowcard sans Christian and maybe Ezekiel (who got injured so soon it was hard to tell where he would have ended up) Does Okada speak good English? That might help him a lot in WWE

If Okada isn't as short as Taka, or as skinny and non-intimidating as Tatsu then he has a chance. And maybe he's one of Triple H's hand-picked guys, in which case he should get a decent debut/push like Sin Cara did.

He's listed as 6'3 240 pounds on Wikipedia. And he's just 25.

Didn't Lord Tensai teach them anything?Americans don't want Japanese wrestlers! No. It taught them that having a stupid gimmick of an American pretending to be Japanese when most older fans recognise him as Albert was doomed to fail. WWE know how key the Latino market is, with a big enough Japanese name, they could crack that market.

Can anyone confirm that F4Wonline actually reported this? I did hear Meltzer mention this on a podcast recently.

Does anyone know how much a top wrestling star makes in Japan v. an average guy in the WWE? I'm pretty sure the cost of living in Florida is minuscule compared to the cost of living in any Japanese city. And the Japanese wrestling industry has been way down for a long time. I always figured Tensai was making out incredibly well financially here regardless of how little an impact he's made.

I think if WWE truly wants to be the global entertainment power they claim to be, they should have a legitimate Japanese star.
There were some rumors a couple years back that they wanted to go big in the Mexican market, and now we have two guys (Del Rio and Sin Cara) that they pushed hard. Del Rio is solidly in the upper midcard, and might have new life as a face, and Sin Cara, whose road has been bumpy in the WWE, is still nonetheless featured regularly.
Okada is obviously talented, and at only 25, his upside is stratospherically higher than Yoshi Tatsu is at this point, why not give him a good legitimate push out the gate once he's done a couple months in NXT, and see how he pans out? There's basically nothing to lose and much to gain.

Kinda related note, but I watched Looper last night, and every time they talked about the evil mob boss in the future called "The Rainmaker", I kept imagining Okada clotheslining people to death.
