im sure this was posted or inducted at some point but its simply too much gold to not revisit...
ive watched this over and over literally in tears from laughing so hard, yet at the same time when big scott pauses and exhales before speaking you can just hear the breath of a defeated man who knows this gimmick is the definition of an abortion...poor bastard...
i am pretty sure i cannot directly link here so just search

Lumberjack gimmicks in wrestling are generally a bad idea. Unless you're portraying either a robotic lumberjack, or a lumberjack with an effeminate side.

Nord sounds like Chris Farley in that promo, and Norton looks like he knows this gimmick will never get over.

How many times did they feel the need to explain the nickname on TV? (Maybe they felt like they needed to give Norton another shot at actually participating in one of these explanations.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKxXr1s2TDwThis also includes one of the worst catch phrases ever, "We don't care, and we ain't scared!"

Jos LeDuc made a fine lumberjack. Of course, he was crazy enough to cut himself with an axe.

I'm still surprised this was never inducted. I even suggested it once. The AWA from about '89-'90 was a Wrestlecrap goldmine.

Norton is giving me serious Doug & Danny Heffernan vibes in this promo.

Honestly, I'd get behind "Pancake addict" Scott Norton more than "Kinda strong guy in the nWo" Scott Norton. And he looks better clean-shaved too.

I had to play that a couple of times to see if John Nord said something about "F***ing the pancake batter."

That pause before he starts just looks like the crappiness of the gimmick just hit him. He's just "wow, this is really bad... oh well, carry on".

Sure, it has some entertainment potential, they just needed to do more with it than tell this long-winded story every promo. Like they maybe cover their fallen opponents with maple syrup. Or Norton could have been eating pancakes while he's on the apron, leaving Nord to do the heavy lifting in the ring. Of course, if you suggested anything like this to Verne Gagne he'd probably have you drowned in Lake Minnetonka, but surely, there was potential there.

The pancake addict gimmick would have been awesome. As long as we wouldn't have to hear Yukon John rehash the story over and over again. He could have been given an 'Uncle Jemima' gimmick! But only as a lumberjack instead of a former slave.

Call me crazy, but i dont think a guy who eats a lot gimmick was going to get over in 1990,,or heck, even 1890.
