...by literal definition. I never really thought about it, as obvious as it is. You listen to both he and Punk's promos, and everything Punk said had an air of truth to it. Rock however literally said nothing --but how he said it hooked that crowd regardless. Rock can say just about anything, and people will follow. It's like Punk poked gigantic logic holes in the pysche's of most wrestling fans, and then Rock came out and basically proved him right and the people still didn't see it or care. That's a mastery of manipulation there that most politicians would be envious of. Rock, whether you like his shtick or not, is incredible. I like this feud. It tears you between raw charismatic appeal (The Rock), and passionate indignation (Punk). It's like they're both right. And they're both wrong. Miles better than Cena's all over the place bullshit.

It's fine if you don't like him but there is a reason why the Rock is one of the best in the history of this business. He knows how to grab people's attention.

I'm amazed by what he can do. It's almost like he has a bet with himself that he can say almost any childish insult, no matter how ridiculous, and people will chant it. Who else can even do that?

Punk's belittling of the fans grew tiresome. It was clearly set up to make a clear defined choice for the fans on who to root for in this feud unlike the Cena one where there were more shades of grey than a BDSM novel. In spite of all that, I still anticipate the smarkier towns will be more pro-Punk than the WWE would ideally want.

So he's going to win the belt, turn heel and sign the contract for his next movie on the belt?

People will legit chant motherf***ing "Cookiepuss" at Punk. And if the thing with Cena is any indication, we may finally get some ice cream out of it.

You can't learn that. That's just natural charisma.

But is he really? I felt like the WWE was a bit afraid to have The Rock outside of Florida.

It's fine if you don't like him but there is a reason why the Rock is one of the best in the history of this business. He knows how to grab people's attention. Pretty much this. Rock's entire promo while being series towards Punk was also aimed at entertaining the fans. He knew exactly how to do that and it worked well. Punk wasn't receiving as large of a response as people expected really and honestly even his hardest line (arms too short to box with god) was a Wu Tang line which people assume he created and even that didn't have the impact of Rock's crowd-wise. Overall Rock's promo did it's job, get the crowd and get Punk. Punk's promo did it's job too. Now, the beauty of this whole thing is the fact that the chemistry between Rock and Punk, the style clash, all of that is far better than Cena and Rock. They made magic tonight and the weeks leading up to the RR and even the RR match it'll be amazing. I expect this will be the greatest RR since 2001.

But is he really? I felt like the WWE was a bit afraid to have The Rock outside of Florida. He is doing a ton of dates outside of Florida now. Not a problem. Rock is pretty much a regular for the next three months. But for the topic, I agree. And Rock/Punk chemistry is wonderful. That is all.

It does. Being credited for that line is like the most one-linerish game of Hot Potato.

Yeah, it's from a 1927 book of sermons and was a Broadway play. GZA wasn't the first rapper to use the line.

See, the vast majority of Punk's promo was just cheap heat, not really any different from The Rock's being catchphrases and chanting. The way they play off of each other just killed it, because they have actual chemistry.
But I agree, the Rock really is capable of getting absolutely anything going, it's amazing.

But is he really? I felt like the WWE was a bit afraid to have The Rock outside of Florida. You have GOT to be kidding me... The Rock will out pop anyone, on any given night nowadays, the old fans love him, and the new fans love him (not the internet ones, they seem fickle that rock isnt using real names and dropping 'pipebombs')

Its amazing how bad people crave worked shoots. Do you want the Rock to be the Rock or come out next time and tell the truth about the only reason Punk can say he's been champ for 400+ days is because of him agreeing to come back and work the RR and a ton more dates for WWE?

Exactly. Then The Rock would have been the actor who buried one of its top stars!!11!!. You cant have Rock come back and just crap on his opponents on the stick without them looking good in some fashion. Rock can get run down and still come back like nothings happened. Just the power he has. So he can be that guy that takes the insults. The same thing happened to him in his feud with Cena, even though the direction of the actual feud sucked, Cena was mostly coming out on top on the stick despite his loss at the end. What they are doing with Rock/Punk is perfect.

This feud is pretty much the equivalent of responding to "YOU CAN'T WRESTLE!" with "I DON'T HAVE TO!" like Big Show did a while back.
