I want to say Bob Holly who had one Wwe title match against Lesnar in the 2004 Royal Rumble.

Do you mean briefest in that they had to get a ppv world title match or in general the briefest stint?

R-Truth's didn't last long either. He went from the Summer of 2011 to the Fall and never got back up there again. Jack Swagger? I still forget that he was world champion.

Which is sad considerng he beat Randy Orton clean (Well, Extreme Rules match clean, as there were no run-ins) on PPV once during his reign.

My memory is a bit off but Rikishi from 2000. Wasn't his Armageddon "did it for the Rock" his only main event status?

Morrison was so close, you could say he was.
Great Khali? Mark Henry? If you think about it, Chris Benoit wasn't in it that long. After he lost the world title, it was right back to the upper midcard.
