I'm torn. All of these guys are talented. I'm glad that WWE would recognize their ability, but worry that the indy scene will be hurt by WWE cherry picking all the big names. Yeah, I have the same worry. Someone on Twitter mentioned Vince having the 'great' idea of buying up all of the big indy talent, sticking them in Florida, and then no one can pay someone else to see them. I know that's the stereotypical, cynical "IWC" attitude to have, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was an intention. The indies will replenish themselves with talent. Guys who are under the radar today will be the indy demigods of tomorrow. The biggest concern should if they can make enough money to stay in business. The economy has hit a lot of them hard. Support the indies while you still have a chance.

Generico has pulled himself from all indie bookings which made people first think he was going to be doing the TNA tapings on Saturday where a number of X Division performers are being brought in. and just like that he's out of job. More realistically, I don't think he had much booked since they talked to him originally months ago and just had a few he was finishing up. I know he pulled himself from DDT4 at first but I think WWE told him to go back knowing them. EDIT: For a kick, the thread when news first broke they were interested in him: officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=WWE&action=display&thread=456155

Thats not very professional. Depends on how far in advance that was. It's common for plans to change in the entertainment industry, professionalism just depends on how many of those there were and how close that was.

Strange as it sounds, Vince HATES people canceling dates and it's the lead belief as to what got Claudio "Antonio Cesaro" Castagnoli fired his first go around. He made Bryan and Finlay work their remaining indie dates after rehiring them as well.

Here's hoping he doesn't get kavaled. You mean get TV time then lose some matches, get a PPV title and ask for his release because he doesn't want to wait like other guys before him have had to do ***coughzigglercough*** Kaval didn't ask for his release

Vince hates people canceling dats as long as they're working for company he has no beef or isn't in direct competetion with.

Yeah, him cancelling his remaining commitments is a bad move. Vince hates that.
As for how Generico will fair in WWE, admittedly I'm not all that familiar with him, but I'm a little baffled that people could still worry how indy wrestlers will fair in the WWE after the success Punk, Bryan and Cesaro have had.

It gives off the idea that you'd just abandon the WWE as well if you had a better deal without a regard for their plans. But if it's like, 6 months in the future and they haven't began advertising you...I doubt Vince or the promoter would care much. That's what I figure, anyway. Maybe Vince is just insane.

I hope that he debuts completely the same with the only new thing being a Vince McMahon toupee glued to the top of his mask.

I think it all depends on how many dates he actually cancelled. Claudio pretty much cancelled dates for at least 5 bigger indy companies. Generico is a bit more of a special attraction wrestler compared to what Claudio was

If this is true, then I am very excited. I love El Generico and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Can't wait to see him make millions of dollars. He's earned it.

I'd say he'd be around the 200 mark also if he was significantly bulkier imo that'd hurt the gimmick a bit
