The CGI Sonic Fan Film that features the return of Jaleel White as Sonic.
Also, be on the look out for some well known cameos from a certain "Nerd" and a certain "critic"

And according to the credits the droids were voiced by a certain 'Raptor'

Imperfect, but given that it's a fan film, I'm pretty happy!
So many things I've missed in the Sonic universe, from a truly vile seeming Robotnik (who reminded me greatly of Sgt. Slaughter), to the threat of the Roboticizer, to "more of his kind" (the Freedom Fighters?!), to Jaleel White as Sonic.
I'm sorry, but I felt like a complete and total 8 year old the second he said "Ro-butt-nik".

Robotnik's mustache could be bigger, but that's very well done- a bit smoother looking than some "SyFy original" effects. Jaleel White should be voicing Sonic more in official projects.

It reminded me of a Transformers film; it focused more on the humans than the actual main character...

Well, if nothing else, it makes me realise how good we had it with Sonic 06.

Kinda something that has to be expected with a live action film with a CG title character (of which there are WAY too many of). Probably will just be more of the game characters, or the animal you rescue from destroyed bots. The GUN soldiers struck me as being humanized versions of the FF, especially Anthony as an Antoine analogue.

From watching that I'm curious if he's thinking of making more, or perhaps looking at this as a pitch of some kind...not that I assume the filmmaker went into this with that in mind, but given the way certain things are left off I presume it was a case of "if we can continue this, great!".

While not a fan of the "Mobius" continuity, and still believing White's voice to be too nasally for Sonic, Sonic himself looks good given that it's an independent fan project.

The thing I'm wondering is why is most of the film "real" and then the very very end is pure CGI?
That was a bit jarring and considering how good that CGI looked makes me think all of the film should've been CGI save for the human actors.

There's a Sonic "SatAM" fansite (the same site that runs the weekly comic of what could've been the show's third season) that contributed quite a bit to the film, so there's a there's always a chance.

Just to expand on what I think is wrong with this: There is so much stuff chucked in there for no real reason. Why have the whole Kintobor naming stuff if it's not touched upon? Just call him Robotnik from the start. Why set it on Mobius when it's established that the world is pretty much like Earth with the exception of the "South Islanders"? Why the endless "Blue Blur" stuff when he moves nowhere near fast enough to be considered a blur? Yes, we all know that Archie, SatAM and so forth existed. Don't bog yourself down with it. This goes for the inclusion of Jaleel White, too. You could take prerecorded clips from SatAM and end up with pretty much the same result. He's utterly discordant compared to everything else in the film, treating it like a joke when everyone else is trying to be all ultra-serious.
And that's perhaps the biggest thing. White's attitude could be forgiven if not for everything else. Sonic... Doesn't work as a serious thing. It's a fun, colourful, silly world, and muted colours and this overbearing dramatic music just doesn't fit the franchise at all. Even when Sonic 06 tried to move to a more 'realistic' approach, the world was still colourful, the music more melodic, and Eggman was more of an affable evil gent than a serious dictator. Even SatAM, for all its numerous and annoying flaws, had the sense of fun with the opening credits.
Also, a lesson from history: Sonic has never looked good with realistic fur textures. That model is possibly the ugliest Sonic I've ever seen, and it's pointless, because he would have worked just as well if not far better with his regular smooth blue quills, which seem like they'd have been easier to render anyway.
And let's just leave the whole awkward flirting-but-not-really scene. That was painful.

I actually know who Eddie Lebron is because I went to high school with him! And yes, we were both in the same basic video production class! The dude had talent then, and this only confirms it. I am so proud of him its almost sickening.

It's a fan film, and it's meant to appeal to multiple generations of Sonic fans, a fandom that's infamous for the disparate tastes of it's various elements due to Sonic having no real set identity for the first decade or so of his life.
If you're going to do fan service, something I'm normally not at all a supporter of, a fan film seems like a good place to do it, in my opinion.

It just feels like it needed some kind of direction. If you're doing this as a test of how a Sonic movie could be done, pick a way it could be done and prove it can work.
If you're doing ultra-serious, I'd say it's a mistake, but go all out with it. If you're doing it lighter, do that, and stick with it. Are you using realistic environments? Go with it! Are you using the random loops of Sonic's world? Go with it! But consistency is important.
It's like if halfway through, Schindler's List had a wacky sidekick. Or if Blazing Saddles suddenly became an incredibly serious depiction of the consequences of racism in America. It doesn't work.

Yeah, Sonic's got even more different interpretations and continutites than some public domain characters. It's nigh impossible to make a one-size fits all project with him, so I'll give them credit for what they pulled off.
Although I am partial to anything Freedom Fighter related myself (Sally FTW).
