Has anyone been having any problems trying to get the movie Dredd to play on Blu-Ray? I tried it in my Sony blu-ray player & it won't recognize the disc. Now I tried it in my PS3, & it took 3 times for it to load. I brought my first Dredd disc back thinking it was the disc, but it's happening with my exchanged copy too. I don't know what the problem is.

I don't own the movie but often problems like this can be remedied by updating your player's firmware.

I have LG blu ray player and it works fine for me. Haven't tried my PS3 though.

This would happen with Blu Rays on my PS3 with rentals.
I would have to send it back to the rental company and they would send me a replacement that usually works. Mostly happens with new releases, so yeah guessing it's a firmware thing.

I just bought my copy today. I haven't opened it. Should I return it?

I had a similar issue with the Back to the Future trilogy (1 and 2 unplayable, 3 very juddery). One firmware update and the problem was solved.

It's saying my firmware is up to date though. So I got no clue whatsoever what the problem is. There's like a 1 in a million chance of me getting back to back faulty discs.

I stuck the disc in. It works fine. I should try using it on a 3D Blu-Ray player. I kind of want the 3D experience again. It was fun when I saw it in theaters.

I either got the worst luck in the world at picking discs, or for some reason my blu-ray player just doesn't support the movie. I tried 4 or 5 different movies before & they all worked fine except for Dredd. I don't know why my player wouldn't support the movie though since I have one of the latest Sony blu-ray Players.

I was searching the internet for anyone else having a problem with Dredd. I just bought the Blu-Ray, and it wont work on either of my Blu-ray players. I returned it for a new one, updated my firmware, and I STILL cant get it working on either. I also have a Sony player and Blu-ray drive on my computer. So you're not alone. That movie just doesn't seem compatible with Sony players. Hopefully another update will come out soon that will cover it.
