I think he will because since they are going to the 4 big ppv format, it'll give him more time to taunt and flaunt that he's champion and really build up the eventual title match with AJ when he comes back. What a dramatic match that would be for Bound for Glory as well. Daniels wins the title, and AJ can't get a title shot until Bound for Glory. Daniels also could talk about how, that last match was supposed to be the last, you can't go back on stips in wrestling! AJ just barely wins the BFG series, and yeah, what an amazing build for a match.

Daniels will probably put on a good fight but will lose in 10 minutes to Hardy. Then again TNA last night had Hardy put down both Aries and Roode. And no one else is in the horizon so Daniels might just pull out the upset or at least get a feud out of it. Just hope they don't Desmond Wolfe this.

I could sorta see him winning the title considering tna has shifted toward doing what the fans actually want to see lately. I'd be happy even if he just held it for a week.

I'm just happy they recognize how awesome the man has been lately. Such an entertaining heel. He deserves this main event against Hardy. I'd even hope it's more of a main event RUN against Hardy rather than a "one and done" title defense.

I love the idea of Daniels winning and taunting AJ about the fact he can't take this moment from him.

Daniels is not World Champion calibre.
Is he talented? Yes. Does he have a good character? Yes. Is he marketable? No. Can TNA do anything to make him marketable? No.
That's his issue, TNA needs a champion that will appeal to multiple markets not just the internet fans. A 1-2 week title reign would be more than fine but he isn't a long term option. Not to mention the dude is really pretty overrated. I can think of 5 better options.

Can you name them?
I'm also of the opinion that the idea of a "marketable champion" is a relic of the past at this point. Who's holding a title doesn't really matter too much anymore, as most people now seem to watch wrestling companies, not individual wrestlers.

TNA got to market themselves first to have a marketable champion. Jeff Hardy is the closest they got and most his marketing is from his WWE tenure.

I somewhat agree but you can't put the title on an Upper Midcard guy. I think your champion doesn't have to be extremely marketable if he's seen as a main event guy. As for the five better options? Based on Marketability alone and in no particular order 1. Kurt Angle 2. Sting 3. Jeff Hardy (Granted he holds the belt currently he's a better choice than Daniels) 4. Bobby Roode 5. Rob Van Dam After those 5 you'd still have a few guys who would be in front or equal to Daniels such as Austin Aries, Bully Ray, James Storm etc

Whether Daniels is main event quality or not, I'm excited to see him and Hardy go at it on the 24th. It should be a great match.

Daniels is marketable. He's excelled in absolutely every PR opportunity TNA has put him in and can play any type of character the company wants with fantastic results. In fact, the belt around someone like him would significantly help TNA look like the alternative product it needs to be to attract new fans.
How is he, especially in a 2013 marketplace, not marketable?

I think Daniels could be extremely marketable as champion and I think that he is a guy who would do very well on talk shows and in TV roles as he is very charismatic and entertaining. I think if he wanted to and was allowed to Daniels could be a big crossover star and get TNA into the public eye.

Because marketability in a company like TNA where NO ONE is marketable sure is a big key. At this point, TNA should just push their best guys forward, NO ONE is doing it better than Daniels is currently. Why not pay off one of their best workers they've ever had with a decent title run? This Hardy run isn't leading to anything anyways.

He should win, but he won't yeah thats exactly what I was thinking it sucks I dont see why they need to keep the title on him now that he's staying ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

With how Daniels has been treated over the years by TNA, I half expect him to have his shot get R-Truth'd and lose it to somebody before he even gets it.
It's a damn disgrace he's not a multi-time TNA/NWA Champion by now. Dude has been a constant highlight of their product for years. It's honestly amazing he's still at the level he's at with how old he is when you compare how somebody like Joe or even AJ have dropped off a little with some age.

I highly doubt Hardy loses the title to Daniels. They may feud, but I think they are going to give Hardy an extended run. Maybe once Bully turns heel (hopefully), he will be the one to dethrone Jeff, but I can't see TNA having that much faith in Daniels.

I really hope he gets it. He deserves the f*** out of any world title that he can get.
In fact, if I was The Lord of Independent Wrestling, he would get a run with the ROH, PWG, NWA, and TNA titles, all at once, as he is probably the only guy, besides Joe, who helped make all four companies.
Plus, I just want the shirt, with him holding the belt in one hand, an appletini in the other, and underneath that, "Christopher Daniels. World Heavyweight Champion."
And on the back.
"Of the World."

Greatest. T-Shirt. Ever. Seriously I'd buy the hell out of that and I'm not a person who buys many wrestling shirts at all.
