....Who's getting hurt playing this game? No one. I'm certain that a game of cops and robbers isn't going to lead to a bunch of first graders bringing real guns to school and playing like that. This is one uptight school that's for sure. Sadly, it really isn't just that one school from what I've seen.

Next they'll be banning tag because you have to physically touch another child and it could incite aggression! I'm not lying when I say this. Tag was banned in my school as a kid. As was Red Rover, Wall Ball, Pog, Marbles and Skipping Ropes.

Next they'll be banning tag because you have to physically touch another child and it could incite aggression! I remember reading an article 10+ years ago about schools banning tag because they felt that declaring someone to be "It" and running away from them to avoid being touched teaches kids that it's okay to shun and ostracize those who are different. They replaced it with a game where everyone runs around giving each other hugs. I wish I was making all this up.

Be happy that's all that happened: If they had played Cowboys & Indians, it might have also involved a racial lawsuit.

In my middle school (and this is back in the early 90s). We went a couple of months in gym class unable to play team games because some kids mother complained her son was depressed because he was bad and the kids picked on him for costing them games and being bad. Eventually the kid left the school over some other issues and it was back to normal.
Fast forward to last week, my job I work almost exclusively in schools. I was in a local high school that has always had an armed cop. We were walking behind a kid and the officer was walking towards us and the kid said "officer Dan I have a weapon in my jacket, you have to taze me" and then the kid pulls a piece of paper out from under his jacket and goes BANG . The officer pulled out his tazer and everything, they were both kinda joking around, just weird to see these days

You have a ball, you have a wall, you bring one to the other with a group of like-minded individuals. We no longer live in simple, elegant times. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

wall ball was banned at my school because too many kids went head first into the wall.
