To be serious, we've had our blowups before.
Lyra Heartstrings
Mare Do Well
Rainbow Dash love/hate in general
preview pics of Princess Cadence and Shining Armor
This isn't the first time we've had disagreements.
But I'll be 100% honest. Tay, FSin, you two are being way too sensitive on this. No one is here attacking anyone's opinion because we all know that we have em. If you're of the minority opinion, it happens. Look at me - I'm someone who has defended RD left and right since Mare-Do-Well and continue to do so. This is a place of discussion and opinions, and all are respected.

It's perfectly reasonable to feel that way. If you don't like something, so be it. I think this all got blown way out of proportion, myself. We've had people not like things in the past with no problem, so what made this time so different? Especially since the issue at hand came about because of some cheap-ass sticker book and a few ambiguous frames and captions in a commercial. It's probably just the principle of the matter. A member of the main cast might have a permanent change made to them that upsets the balance of the main cast. The Wedding merely introduced three characters, (although one was a brother to Twilight, but that's another argument) but here, it could change the foundation Lauren built in the first place, all for the possible reason it was a high executive push to sell the toy. Add that with other problems, and well, here we are...

I mean, it was about this time last year when the first Cadance sets were leaked, and that was for an episode that wouldn't air until April.

There's not even a sign of an alicorn Twilight figure in the works yet.
All we've seen is a questionable poster, and a sticker that was likely an error.

Well, if there's nothing by Toy Fair 2013, it'll be safe to say the fright train has been dodged.

The sticker book could potentially be an error since coloring books and sticker books tend to vary in quality. I haven't seen the poster so I can't really comment on that. I think the new alicorn will just be Skyla, who I didn't know about when hte alicorn Twilight talk began. That said, IF alicorn twilight happens, it's kind of a Son Gokou effect - she'll be the strongest in the Elements and has the potential to be the only one to save the day going forward. The point of the series (friendship) depends strongly on teamwork and friends, and everyone in the Mane Six gets their turn. I'm not about to ragequit over the possibility, as I've previously stated, I'm wait-and-see.

If there is indeed a Season 4 I don't see it happening. The only time I see it likely to happen is when the show is due to end for good

Even if they go the alicorn route, I don't think it'll be permanent. Probably only be some big climactic superpower to overcome some huge obstacle, maybe with the others loaning the power of their elements to her to make it work.

I'm sorry if this offends people, but MY OPINION stands: Season 3 has been a massive dissapointment. You like the new Discord? Good for you. I think it sucks as he had more potential as a villian. You liked Trixie's face turn? Good for you. I think it was out of f***ing nowhere, especially when she tried to hurt Rainbow Dash after the amulet was off her. You liked Magic Duel? Good. I think it was pandering mess of an episode, and the same goes for Wonderbolt Academy, although that episode has the added bonus of ruining a character for me. You like Alicorn Twilight? Fine. I don't, and I've already said my piece on it hundreds of times. I'm just sick of any brony who has to throw a hissy fit when even the slightest bit of disliking something rears its head: A: I didn't like how they handled Discord, he has a lot more potential as a villain. B: WOAHOMG!!!!shift111 U f***ING MAD BRA!? IT WAS D BES TING EVA!!! IT"S MMLP, NOT BREkING BAD!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLL!!!!!(Keep in mind, I'm only defending the people who actually have grips and can list them in a proper manner, not the "RuENED FoEVAA!!" crowd.) Yes, such a loving community that deserves a documentary made about them. But I digress. The thing is, is right now I have a negative opinion on the show since I don't like the direction it's going. Yes, it's negative, but people need to start taking in negative opinions. It'll help understand both sides of an argument. If bronies can't do that (and in SOME places they really can't), then I really do sympathize with the haters. P.S: One more thing. It's a kids show, of course. Yet that doesn't stop people from arguing about Barney, Power Rangers, WWE *gasp*,TMNT etc. etc. If we can argue about those and not MLP, then why? What's with the censorship? I accept your opinions. But I won't respect how you see it unless you quit acting so f***ing pissed at me. That's what's bothering me. I disagree in the most respectful way possible and you ALWAYS lash out for no damn reason. I didn't do a damn thing to you to deserve that. And I still disagree with everything you're saying. The face turns were NOT out of nowhere. I saw the pieces in place from the very start, and I keep wondering how I'm apparently the only one that saw it. And you don't like the face turns? OK, but that also means you don't like that they actually forgive the bad guys for what they did. Most kid shows don't even bother to have characters make amends, and the fact FiM does is VERY refreshing and much needed. And just HOW would the possibility of alicorn Twilight upset the "balance"? It would really be the only way I'd ever find her interesting as a character, to be perfectly honest. She is boring as hell and has only had 2 good episodes devoted to her. So yeah. Once again you can have yours, but don't be so mean about it?

The reason I hate the face turns is because it's reminiscent of shows that hammer the moral home so hard it'll make your head spin because it's assumed kids/viewers are morons. The villain makes the life of a heroes a living hell, but after defeat, it's all sunshine and rainbows. Sorry, but to me that sends a bad message. Not to mention I prefer them as villains since I see the possibility of even more stories. Also, the balance will be upset because now it places Twilight above the rest. In a show about friendship, and with the diversity, it will not be that but now be about Twilight and her 5 accomplices.

This is the part I agree with. Like I mentioned before, the Son Gokou effect. More powerful might not equal more interesting. But we'll see.

Well if you want to be technical, Twilight was supposed to be the main character above the others anyway. That's how Lauren Faust designed the show.
As for forgiving the villains, well, it's in the show's title. Friendship is magic. That includes forgiveness.

What's the point of the friendship of we are supposed to care about 1 person/pony?

Exactly, even with the shift in morals, this is still her story. But even with that factor doesn't devalue the other five, since they all evolve and grow as the series goes on. Even if her destiny is the biggest, they still matter just as greatly.
