Neither mid-card title means anything, and WWE have no intention it seems of changing that

Miz will still be there in a few years. Cesaro will be in TNA by that time. Maybe if Aces & 8's are still around he can join the crew of D-Von and Festus etc. Tenay: "Angle's got him down and he's taking the mask off! Wait a minute...that's Anthony Cesar! He's part of Aces & Eights!"

I still think they should have had Cesaro rename the US title as the European title. Instant super heel heat and more reaction from crowds than he's getting at the moment. They should still do that since the Brand Split is over and the U.S. Title has pretty much the new European Title ever since TLC 2011 anyway. Let Cesaro change the belt, and hold onto it for a few more months. Whoever beats him for the title just keeps the European Title with no explanation whatsoever.

Neither mid-card title means anything, and WWE have no intention it seems of changing that The titles mean about as much as you want them to mean. If you can enjoy the superstar holding the title and like the way he's being booked, then the title looks important. If not, then it doesn't.

I'm laughing at the idea of Aces & 8s STILL being around in a few years with every member not being revealed yet.

Antonio is the Wrestling God of Main Event on Ion television, no way they're going to take the title off him in a non-marquee pre-PPV match. I expect the Shield to ruin Miz's day once again to setup the shenanigans that will go down in the Rumble Match.
Antonio deserves to drop to someone like Ryback who just recently got stiffed in a main event title feud. Miz is an okay mid-card face but he hasn't been at WHC/WWE title level in years. The title always has to change "up" (Ryback, Orton, or Sheamus), not "down" (3MB member, Alex Riley, Yoshi Tatsu) or even "sideways" (Miz, Kofi after being beaten twice clean, Wade Barrett as the IC champ, etc.)

I can buy Ryback as an IC Champ, but not a U.S. Champ. In Cesaro's case, the U.S. Title has to change "down" because Cesaro is close to outgrowing the belt and it would free him to move up the ladder.

I didn't consider them moving Cesaro up to main event. People always forget he's still in Year 0 (not even a full year yet in the WWE). But they might and I agree, they'd hafta drop the US title "down" most likely in a triple threat where he doesn't get pinned.

I read the OP's post without realizing it didn't happen. Cesaro can milk this US title reign for a good 2 more months if he needed to.
But this is WWE. Vince is deadset on giving Miz yet another title opportunity where he does absolutely nothing of significance.

I keep saying it this, but The U.S. Title is the new European Title. Even in Miz's depushed state, he's too good for it. If Cesaro drops the belt, it will be to a lower level guy.
