To be fair laughing at the mentally ill is exactly what the 2BFP franchise was built on the in the first place. Only with Mr. Chandler it's a shoot and not a work.

Well at this point, I really don't know what to think about it. I'm going to keep watching their videos, but it's going to be in the back of my mind every time I watch a video of theirs featuring Liam or Matt. I mean, I still watch the Game Grumps stuff involving Ross, despite the references he's made in the past to Sonichu (as well as his Twitter being a cesspool of Chris-chan obsession) and I still watch JonTron's stuff despite the references he's made in the past. Overall though, I'm just sick of it, and I don't think anyone should make any reference to it at all (which is why I refused to name either Chris-chan or Sonichu in my previous posts in this thread).

If it makes you feel any better, as it goes on, it's sort of apparent that its less them making fun of him and more just some joking about the concept of Sonichu as an intellectual property. They do mention that he has genuine problems and I don't think they'd condone mistreatment of him, and they didn't if I recall give any personal details of his life or anything like that. Then again, it's possible I missed something. They actually show quite a lot of sensitivity on the topic of the mentally ill in a few games where sanitariums or asylums are used as locations, as they are disgusted when mentally unwell people are throwaway enemy types, since the reality is that "oh no, all the doors are unlocked!" scenarios dehumanize them as mindless killers, when any number of anxieties, etc, are realistically why people would be there, it's not all dangerous behavior towards others.

Well it is true that they never mentioned him by name, only Sonichu. Which I'm fine with, I have no problem with people joking about Sonichu, just the Chris-Chan thing as a whole. It's just that I've seen far too many people on the internet using Chris-Chan as an excuse for abusing people with autism and/or mental illness. That, and when Liam said that the wiki was worth reading and that it 'isn't that bad'. I've only ever read one page of the wiki, and it scarred me for life. ONE PAGE. I've also only ever seen one page of the Sonichu comic, and one Chris-Chan video, and it had such a negative effect on me that I still haven't gotten over it three years later. As I said before, I'm not going to stop watching their videos, but it will probably be in the back of my mind every time I watch one. And I'll take your word on the sensitivity thing, although it does seem to conflict with the previous poster who said that the Best Friends were built on making fun of the mentally ill.

To follow up on my last post, I was feeling morbidly curious, so I read the "Autism" page on the Chris-Chan wiki.
Whoever is responsible for writing that either has no idea what autism is, or did terrible research and completely misinterpreted how high-functioning autism actually works. Either way, it's one of the stupidest autism related things I've ever read (and that's saying something).
Just...the entire explanation of autism symptoms and what autism is is completely wrong on that page. How anyone could call that "worth reading" is beyond me.
(Apologies, I realise this is off-topic in regards to the Best Friends, but I felt I had to put my follow up post somewhere)

And I'll take your word on the sensitivity thing, although it does seem to conflict with the previous poster who said that the Best Friends were built on making fun of the mentally ill. Off the top of my head both the Beyond Two Souls and Murdered:Soul Suspect playthroughs feature mental hospitals and during those Matt and Pat talk about how inaccurate and insulting portrayals of mental patients tend to be. And as Pat studied Psychology he tends to have a good understanding of those things.

And now the playthrough of Sonic Adventure has concluded with the Super Sonic chapter. Enjoyed it (now I'm a fan of these guys), but I gotta disagree with them in regards to the Phase II music for Perfect Chaos. "Open Your Heart" suits the start of the battle, but the orchestral theme works as a dramatic finish, with Chaos getting even more pissed and what not. OYH just wouldn't work for that phase if you ask me.

So we're going to ignore that Matt now has connections with Shinsuke Nakamura and Hiroshi Tanahashi, right?

That was just Woolie coming into the room.
I've got the last four parts of the Bloodborne LP to finish up tonight, looking forward to it. Much like with Dark Souls 2 they get a ton of flack for them but I always enjoy watching them...and part 48 was really quite illuminating with Woolie.
