...John Cena died, The Rock broke his neck, Triple H and Undertaker were also unable to compete?
How would WWE react to their major 'Mania players being out of action? What would they do with their biggest show of the year and beyond? I thought this could be a pretty interesting discussion.
Go.

I don't think much would really change. I think they'd just pretend that their other wrestlers are more important than they were previously making them out to be.

Ryback vs Punk for the wwe title is the main event and Ryback will win the title.

I know it's wrong to say that, but that'd probably be a great thing to see, well not the Cena being dead part, let's just have him injured, this would probably change the entire product for a long time, where do they go without Cena, do they take their main eventers and make them bigger deals, do they bring a new guy in there(BO DALLAS!), do they go with Ryback? Punk? Do they make multiple top face? I'd really love to see that.

In the short term you'd imagine they'd just re-position everyone and make the best of it. Maybe even call in the likes of Austin, Michaels, Flair and Hogan to help out.
In the long term they'd be forced to reevaluate the roster and give CM Punk, Sheamus and Ryback the status currently reserved for Cena.
Problem is you can't just make someone a draw. John Cena is a draw because he's talented, hard working and lots of people pay to see him. So they'd have to hope that a guy like Punk, Sheamus, Ryback or Randy can really step up and start putting asses on seats.

They'd cancel it if Cena died. I'm serious. It would cast a shadow over the show, even moreso than Benoit did, IMO.
This is kind of morbid to think about, people want their favorites to be pushed, so they conjure up scenarios where bigger stars are dead or terribly injured, so WWE would be forced to push them. There's fandom and then there's that..

It would mean that for once, the guys headlining Mania would be the same that work the other 13 PPVs during the year. Which would be a good thing for the long-term health of the company.

WWE Title: CM Punk (c) vs. Brock Lesnar
World Title: Randy Orton (c) vs. Ryback
Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho in a feud similar to Y2J/HBK from WM 19
6-Man Tag Street Fight: The Shield vs. Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, The Miz Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara
Street Fight: Mick Foley vs. Antonio Cesaro
Kane vs. Daniel Bryan
Money in the Bank: Kofi Kingston vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Wade Barrett vs. Christian vs. Damien Sandow vs. Big Show vs. Zack Ryder
Something like that might sell.

If John Cena died, I think WrestleMania would be the least of WWE's worries.

If John Cena died, I think WrestleMania would be the least of WWE's worries. I would be saddened by John Cena's death, but honestly, I don't think a WWE without Cena would be horrible. The fans don't watch JUST for Cena, they have other faces like Ryback, Miz, Sheamus, etc. to fall back on. While they won't make as much money as they did before, it's not like another company would suddenly surpass them And any money that they would've gone towards paying Cena's salary would be reallocated.

A bunch of fans DO watch just for Cena.
Good lord this thread is morbid. Why is Cena the only one dead? Geeeez.

Good point, but WWE doesn't seem to have much of a "Plan B" with anyone right now. I suppose Ryback could fill that void, but I don't know about that.

Even long term, unless he was murdered or something (might was well bring it up, since the thread's kinda morbid to begin with), his death, while being the face of the company, would bring back pro wrestling scrutiny in full force: Was he taking steroids? What was his lifestyle like on the road? What was his lifestyle like as a whole? How does his lifestyle compare to the rest of the roster? Could the WWE's policies have prevented it? All these questions the WWE'd have to answer; and again, because Cena's the face of the company, would have died as a member of the company, and was a big child hero on top of all of that, the media and legal scrutiny would be much much louder.

Pretty much. WWE barely survived Chris Benoit, as tragic a situation as that was. Anything like that god forbid, would kill them as a company.
