I really hope someone duck tapes Drax during the movie.

I wonder who'll voice Rocket Racoon? Simon Pegg, I hope. since Edgar Wright dragged his feet so much he's too old to be Ant-Man now, but the guy already has experience voicing talking rodents.

It's really strange foreshadowing. In The Infinity Gauntlet, Drax steps on a basketball. This needs to have a photoshop.

I was hoping Rooker would be Rocket Racoon but as long as he's in the movie and gets to kick some interstellar ass I'll be happy.

I just searched for this thread after finding out Batista was in it.
I stumbled on it in an IGN article and they just casually mentioned it and I was like "....wait, what?!"

Yeah, Yondu?
It was when Abnett and Lanning started throwing in the older team that that series went to pot, this isnt making me any more excited for this movie.

I'm still excited for it. I was confused by the addition of Yondu, but it could definitely work.

They could literally add any character to the team and the vast majority of people wouldn't know or care about the difference. And I think that's an advantage for them. They won't feel the need to stay within some preset interpretation. After all, the MCU is supposed to be its own universe with its own continuity.
This film has one of the most interesting cast for a superhero movie. Especially considering this is the final film before Avengers II. But I'm digging the choices, if they keep filling the cast with people I like, this is a midnight showing for me.

Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be a Thanos introduction movie. That's about it, I think. The Guardians get owned, leading to Avengers being like "pssh, we got this" in Avengers 2.

I doubt they get thrashed. Marvel wants this property to sell toys to kids, the good guys have to win. I doubt they ever go head to head with Thanos. They more likely will fight his henchmen on the way to find back up to take on the Mad Titan.

I have no doubt that Batista is most likely an awful actor, but I'm so excited to see him as Drax.

I have no doubt that Batista is most likely an awful actor, but I'm so excited to see him as Drax. He was decent enough in THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS, I thought. Drax isn't really a talkative type, so I think the role will play to his strong suits: big muscular fighter person.
