As you all probably know, Lebron James gets a ton of hate from-well, everybody. It seems like the dude can't catch a break from some people. Now, why do you guys think he gets so much disdain? The whole decision thing? His perceived lack of clutch ability? Or are people just hating on whoever's the best? Discuss.

Though, after seeing Dwight Howard's antics the last 2 years, I think I appreciate Lebron a lot more

It's the Decision.
People really didn't hate him in Cleveland. That first year in Miami, he was loathed outside of South Beach on road trips.
That said, after what Dwight Howard has done recently, that looks less heinous.

How he handled leaving Cleveland. In retrospect he knew that he wasn't coming back(i.e. announcing that he was going to wear #6 next season etc.) but he strung them along and then had a douchey decision program(which is also a prime example of ESPN's douchiness)

Really just the decision thing for me. I just think if you're going to make it a TV special it should have been to re-sign with Cleveland. He would have got destroyed by them anyway, but the rest of the country would not have been on him as much had it been done like any other signing. After some time though, i believe if he could do it over again, he would not have gone about it the way he did.
I don't mind LeBron now. Thanks to Dwight Howard, who pretty much made it impossible for Orlando to get decent value for him. He held them hostage pretty much. That is a true douche bag. It makes hating on LeBron for "The decision" seem rather petty.

The Decision and the immediate stuff after (like guaranteeing 8 championships) was pretty much it for a lot of people. It was also ridiculously uncharacteristic for him. He's a pretty nice guy for pretty much the rest of his career and he also has this lovable goofball vibe to him. I still think he was put up to The Decision by ESPN and his sponsors. He looked really uncomfortable through the whole thing.
And in hindsight, the Decision isn't nearly as bad as what Dwight Howard put Orlando through.

I don't follow basketball what did Dwight Howard do? He was wishy washy on whether he wanted to leave or stay. The Magic wanted to trade him if he wasn't going to stay. So he signed a one year extension, got traded to the Lakers and the Lakers are not very good this year. He tried to not hurt anyone's feeling and idk what he really wanted but he played it wrong but in kinda the opposite way that LeBron did.

I don't follow basketball what did Dwight Howard do? He planned to be traded, but then he kept changing his mind on whether he wanted to be traded or not, and in the process wound up getting his coach fired, forcing his team to accept less than they could have got just to unload him, and he was also injured the whole time and not helping his team at all. So, he's either a REALLY poor decision maker, or this was a very elaborate dick move.

Despite the fact that "The Decision" program actually raised a lot of money for the Boys and Girls Club, it still left a bad taste in people's mouths, and caused a lot of people to hate LeBron. I personally didn't think he gave it his all during the 2010-2011 season (He basically admitted this as well), but he has more than made up for it over the last year and a half.
Howard's had the reputation of being kind of a "Drama Queen" over the last year, even in Los Angeles. When Kobe Bryant is calling you out, you know you're in trouble.

It's nothing about him, just the constant love on Sportscenter for me. They give him way more time than anything and it's annoying if you're a fan of other teams or sports.

You decide to have an hour long show to announce what team you are going to that everyone already knew a month before you even said it. Then say it within the first ten minutes. That is an ego mixed with stupidity I can not stand

I hated what he did to Cleveland, but now I'm starting to like the guy especially since he's openly supporting Sacramento in our fight to keep the Kings.

It doesn't really seem prevalent now, he basically had his face turn in the playoffs last year. And as it's been mentioned, Dwight Howard showed everyone that LeBron could've done so much more to the Cavaliers besides hurting their feelings.

Yeah, I used to love Lebron, then I hated his guts for the Decision, and the big glory moment of him, Wade, and Bosh, as they have their celebration. But then, he calmed down, and started playing tough again, and he earned my respect again.
Plus, the little game of catch with the fan last week was pretty funny, too. Can't hate the man for that.
And, like everyone else has said, Dwight has made himself look like a bigger ass than Lebron ever could.

Also LeBron quit teasing the Dunk contest. You aren't going to be in it so stop getting people's hopes up

As a Pacer's fan its his comments and complete lack of respect for a team that has taken them to the limits prior...As a basketball fan it's his guarantee of 8 titles and the douchbaggery of the Decision

I've been arguing with my brother over this question for a bit now. Who would win? James in his prime or Jordan in his prime?
