The sanctions Standards & Practices placed on the show are hilarious.
And also, apparently Spidey couldn't punch anyone, as it would've made the show too violent. This, on top of the fight scenes, lasers shooting, and whatnot.

Great show, still adore it. Definitely had its issues with animation and censorship, but it still did the character well and helped to introduced many of the elements to characters (aggressive symbiote, split personality Norman Osborn) which were used in other media. I would say Spectacular is technically better, but the 90s series really paved the way for it as it and X-Men more or less pioneered the use of story arcs and serial storytelling in western cartoons.

I read they wanted to do more seasons but the head of Fox wanted more censorship so they chose not to go ahead with more episodes

Who knew the symbiote turns Spider-Man into Roman Reigns?

Oh, that reminds me...in Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions, the two least violent Spider-men (90's and 80's) voice acted for the two most violent Spider-men (Noir and 2099) LOL!!

Really didn't like how utterly weak and useless Spiderman was in pretty much every episode. I did think Venom and Carnage were handled extremely well, and I did like Spiderman teaming with all his alternate universe selves quite a bit. LOVED Spider-Carnage, and actually kinda found myself rooting for him (probably because he was portrayed as strong and tough, while Spidey was always portrayed as so whimpy and whiny). Hated Morbius and hoped he'd die. Also got fed up with Black Cat's whining crap too, blaming Peter for everything ever and her blind stupid loyalty to that idiot, Morbius. Thought characters like Kingpin and Hobgoblin were used excellently well. Great voice acting for both of those characters. Liked a lot of a slow build up to so many characters...especially Silvermane and Vulture. Thought the Man-Spider story was really good, even kinda liked Punisher. Overall though, I think Spectacular was far better than the 90's series. Not sure how I'd rank it besides Ultimate Spiderman. Spectacular Spider-man>90s Spider-man>60's Spider-man>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ultimate Spider-man. it's not just the worst Spider-man cartoon I've ever seen, it's one of the worst superhero cartoons I've ever seen. and this opinion has nothing to do with Spectacular getting cancelled, even if that didn't happen it's just a terribly written show. even worse, it's now dragging down Avengers because Jeph Loeb's an idiot who insists that both shows have to be in the same continuity even thought that's impossible.

I just kept laughing every time he would have his butt handed to him even by the Shocker If nothing else the series tried to give even the B-lister villains some good showtime. Shocker, the Spot, Hydro-Man, hell they made Electro into a virtual god who took down Shield (Granted with an unnecessary backstory as Red Skull's son, but still).

Heh Red School. That woulda been an excellent Tick villain; just a Commie schoolhouse With the school somehow being persuasive with its arguments even though we never see it talk.

The one episode that did nothing for me was the two part arc with the X Men, I also like how they portrayed Kraven in a positive light
