Ugh. Before OT, I was rooting for the Wings to end the streak. Now I just want Chicago to win since it's more advantageous for them to win as far as the Kings are concerned.

As much shootout disdain as there is, most of Chicago's wins have not come in the shootout.
So, we can't dismiss them as shootout warriors ala the 2010 Coyotes.

Wow hawks have 41pts already. In the last lockout short season a 8th seeded Dallas stars team had 42 points. Safe to say if Chicago gets at least ten more points I'd say they already got a playoff spot

So... that Chicago/Anaheim game on March 20 is looking pretty damn good.

So I'm watching the Isles/Sens game via the Isles feed and Howie Rose and Butch Goering are horrendous on commentary. They just botched spelling John Tavares' last name. I mean, no big deal right? Franchise player and all that; you can't even get his name right.

I think this just goes to show how damaging the lockout was for the NHL on a national perspective. The continuing Blackhawks streak should be one of the top, if not THE top, sports story in the country right now, but nobody seems to care. This is why the lockout was bad for hockey. Any casual fans that have been drawn in since 2004 walked away and may not be dragged back in. Yes, hockey fans are acknowledging how impressive this streak is, but outside of the hardcore hockey fanatics, few seem to care. Nah, there'd just be as much apathy in the media even if we had a full season and no lockouts. Maybe if ESPN ever tried to give a serious shit about hockey coverage beyond a token mention every so often, things would be different. At least attendance and ratings in a lot of markets are pretty consistent or even better in the US. The Devils in particular have sold out every game this season except for a midweek game against the Lightning. Financially they're in the best shape they've been in years.

In terms of league health, the NHL is doing well.
Attendance is doing well in most places- contrast that with how in the other leagues, teams with good W-L records haven't had great attendance (i.e. Indiana Pacers).

Considering how long Detroit had been beating up on Chicago, this is a role reversal 10 years in the making.

Yeah, I remember last year when the Sixers were on that tear and they had trouble literally giving away tickets.

The Hawks run has just been awesome. All I can say. I'm just taking every game in. And yeah it's going to end at some point, but I really don't care. Just lift up Lord Stanley's Cup come June and all we be great.

Alexei Emelin cheap shots Tyler Seguin, and his prize is getting his face rearranged by Zdeno Chara.

I feel dirty because I'm actually rooting for the Rangers tonight. When did Buffalo become such a dirty team? That shot on Richards was so ridiculously goonish.
