Even though we lost, I have to say the game was a blast. Both goalies sucked and defence wasn't to be found very much. We still get a point and it's all good. We haven't lost in regulation time since that 6-0 Toronto slaughter so I'm ok. I'm just flippin' glad it didn't end up an 9-2 game which I thought it would be when the Pens were up 4-2. Sucks that the beauty Pacoretty goal and Subban's clock beater didn't mean a win but oh well. We've been doing a hell of a lot better than I ever expected we would this year so I'm still pretty damn happy.

I've got to say, as a neutral party, this game was great. Both sides were playing dirty and the tempo was high all game long. It really felt like a playoff game. I also loved the fact that Miller was taking s*** after the game was over. I can't wait to see Thursday's game. Also, I love that you guys have to deal with professional troll Steve Ott on a regular basis now. I'm expecting Krys Barch to drop the gloves at some point during Thursday's game. Anyway, I can't thank you guys enough for that Lokti trade. He's fit in great with our system and has been the one bright spot in this slump. I think if Brodeur was actually in goal he'd be responsible for a few GWG's by now as opposed to closing distance or tying the game. And in other news, Devils prospect Reid Boucher just broke Steven Stamkos' goal record at Sarnia. Ah, you're welcome for Loki. Poor kid would have never really gotten a chance with how stacked we are at Center, so the kid deserved better. I'm glad he's clicking with Kovy. As far as the Kings are concerned, well I guess our streak had to come to an end. I'll give credit when credit is due; the Canucks outplayed us for most of the game. We had some of the momentum after Jordan Nolan tied it at 2, but that Daniel Sedin goal was a back breaker. Onward back home against the Preds on Monday.

Original Six hockey is as good as it's been in years.
All 6 teams are between great and treading water. It's been eons since 1-2 of them wasn't garbage or mediocre

Anticipating an epic Wings/Hawks game this afternoon. Would be a big FU to TV execs if we make it 22 in a row today, as I have a feeling NBC want to have the game where the streak ends.

According to a report in Newsday, Nassau County has failed to live up to the terms of its lease with the Islanders "for years", meaning that we could see the team head to Brooklyn sooner than expected.

Knowing how dreadful the situation has been between Nassau County and the team for years now, I can't say I'm surprised. Way too much politics along with a large percentage of Nassau County folks in that area suffering from a ridiculous sense of entitlement and "Not In My Backyard!" syndrome.
The Isles did everything they could to stay in Nassau and get a new, modern arena built to replace the decrepit Colosseum that could attract new businesses and jobs. Nassau has no one to blame but themselves here.

0-0 after one, Chicago the busier of the two teams. Hope that doesn't lead to Detroit being "more efficient".

Looks like the Bruins are winning tonight. Budaj is in nets. Salut unbeaten in regulation time streak.

Howard's playing like a madman keeping the Hawks out. So is Crow with the Wings' shots.

I think this just goes to show how damaging the lockout was for the NHL on a national perspective. The continuing Blackhawks streak should be one of the top, if not THE top, sports story in the country right now, but nobody seems to care.
This is why the lockout was bad for hockey. Any casual fans that have been drawn in since 2004 walked away and may not be dragged back in. Yes, hockey fans are acknowledging how impressive this streak is, but outside of the hardcore hockey fanatics, few seem to care.

If they don't care or don't want to watch, it's their loss.
