Whoever's reffing NJD/WAS clearly has money on the Devils. 2 5-on-3's in the third period? Really? Eh, both of Washington's goals were on terrible calls: first on a phantom penalty that set up the first one, then on a blown call they missed that lead to the second. The reffing was just horrific all over in that game. Still, a game the Devils needed pretty big time. I'm convinced they're really missing Dainus Zubrus. No, the Dainusaur doesn't always show up on the score sheet, but he's basically Pete DeBoer's system personified, and almost never loses a puck battle.

Happy birthday Ryan Smyth!!!!!! Nice garbage goal. Overall this is a good back and forth game between Minnesota and Edmonton. Edmonton is actually playing well what the hell? Peckham who showed up this season way to overweight is playing good on his first game of the season. Better than Whitney but I think everyone is better than Whitney

This city kills me sometimes. We have a 5 game winning streak, we're first in the Conference, we lose a game in overtime (meaning 1 point out of 2...oh no!!!!!) and there are people freaking out about it. Some are demanding Price be traded, the team needs to be shook up and trades made - good God people, chill out!

OK, I know it's early and there's a lot of hockey to be made, but I just smiled at the thought, the mere potential, of a Chicago-Montreal Stanley Cup Finals

That way Edmonton fans can run out all the crappy players and Tambellini and Lowe out of town once and for all!!!!

Where does that hit rank on the cheapshot level, on a scale of 1 to Raffi Torres?

I think it's mainly because I can't stand Montreal (no offense Darth) and I would get sick of hearing-especially from the Canadian media- everybody jacking off with two Original 6 teams in the Cup Finals.

First Spezza, Then Karlsson, now Craig Anderson gets injured did Bryan Murray or Eugene Melnyk do something incredibly wrong in a previous life?
At least the Anderson injury is only a sprain so that shouldn't keep the hottest goalie in the league out too too long.

It'll never be as bad as the Pittsburgh-Detroit back-to-back Cup Finals. Plus, Montreal being good again would be a breath of fresh air. We've had way too many Sunbelt teams (no offense), New Jerseys, and Detroits in the SCF. Come to think of it, all the Original 6 teams save for Detroit are doing well so far this season (who would have thought the Red Wings would bring up the rear in that department)?

I decided to watch Community after the score became 2-1 because I knew the game was over Taylor Hall kneeing Minnesota's Cal Clutterbuck, who apparently suffered a charleyhorse as a result of the hit.

Offense taken!!!! I expect this from slickness and BRV. You? Ouch. I'd love to see a Habs/Hawks Final because it'd be a Final were I'd be ok with the opposing team winning the Cup. It'd still suck but I like the Hawks so the pain wouldn't be as bad if we lost. I want to see an original six Final - I'd like to be a part of it but if we're not I wouldn't care who it was but it'd be cool to see because it's been a long time.

No league demonstrates so much of a sickening, league-growth-killing obsession with it's "original teams" than the NHL.
Not an insult to fans of those teams, who have likely grown up with them their entire lives, but in terms of the media that follows the NHL its downright shameful and detrimental to the overall health of the game.

Or better. Your management is afraid of your fanbase like how Philly's fanbase is afraid of there's. It could be worse like let's sell blind optimism every year with a new draft pick so that means new hockey jersey revenue and these rig pig idiots who make 10grand a month will still show up to these games because we suckered them in. It seems like Edmonton is going to the way of the Islanders or Panthers or Jackets of the rebuild strategy rather than the way of the Penguins, the Hawks, or the Capitals. Why can't we be awesome as Philadelphia? Boom last place finish one year with only a #2 pick we didn't use the following the year to boom eastern conference finals next year
