I don't get the need to now make the logo the main focal point of it. I dislike the shape too as well.
Winged-eagle, big eagle, NWA title, Skull belt...all the iconic world championships have been round. This is a bit square and pointy. Design of a world championship - shape of a midcard title.

Without looking at any replies on this thread I'll give my first opinions on the new belt. And let me preface this by saying I hated the spinner belt. This belt is an abomination. The ugliest thing I've ever seen. Terrible, terrible, horrid, awful, and frankly, disastrous. If it's between that and the lame spinner belt, sheesh, bring back the spinner. Bring back the spinner? They have the logo the main focal point so that it is basically a big, shiny, gold advert for WWE. I remember John Cena saying as much when he was on Howard Stern a few years ago when the spinner was first around. |

I just realized...
At least since the Winged Eagle (I'd have to check further back), this is the first version of the WWE Championship to only have TWO sideplates instead of 4 or 5.

I honestly don't hate it.
And I did at first, so I'm surprised.
Really it'd be a lot better if the area behind the WWE logo was gold as well, instead of black like the belt.

I have one... Well, that about decides it for me; I will NOT be getting a replica. Cause they decided to cheap out on it and get rid of the detail behind the logo on the main plate's leather. But then again...who knows I may still get one one day. Just not immediately like I wanted to. |

I think I'd like the belt more if the giant logo on the center-plate was swapped out for the globe/logo combo from the side-plate. And, of course, the empty space in the center-plate was filled out. The PS's on this thread look much better.

You know I think the new belt is great. I've have been waiting for so long for them to get rid of Cena, belt and this is great for a new generation going forward.
It's a good representation of WWE in a new HD world.

Mine arrived on Thursday. I ordered through Wrestling Superstore, but through Amazon therefore avoiding tax, and paying a lower shipping fee. I don't know how I got it in only 2 days because while I am a Prime member, this belt didn't qualify for it.
As for the belt itself. The plates are very thick, and the strap has I guess what I'd call very natural movement. And it feels like it weighs about 10 lbs, although I think it weighs close to 8.

I bet they see this as an opportunity to sell more belts by having the custom side plates for each person.
