Matt Tremont (and Abdullah Kobayashi) are okay. Tremont has pancritis which elevates enzymes (which the tests for Hep C look for). Tremont pulled off the show cause the lab techs told him what he might had. Passed all other tests but is taking a little time off to sort things out.
CZW tests everybody who gets into the ring every 6 months (including refs and announcers). Costs $90 a person and DJ pays for all of it.
Masada tore a ligament in his knee back in January and has gotten worse, and at the WSU show his kneecap went out of place. It's not an overly serious tear (doctors say 3 week recovery) but Masada is trying to fight through the pain as wrestling is his only job. DJ said CZW will be holding a fundraising show in Philly for Masada in July so he can have money for his surgery.
The ECW arena will be changed into a concert venue. Doesn't expect it to ever hold Indy wrestling again. If changes go through as planned, to rent the venue would be $5000 a show. Though he said never said never.
Only problem with Flyers Skate Zone is they don't have alcohol. Venue agreed to let them sell alcohol, but they need to hire an outside vendor to sell. Still, CZW will look at running some shows in Philly again either at the Armory or the Vogue.
If he ran shows in the Arena again if/when it reopens for wrestling he wants certain things promised for him. Says Flyer Skate Zone is actually a better building for a lot of reasons (AC, plumbing, better parking, things to do in area).
This may be the last Tournament of Death. Not the moneymaker it once was and it costs a lot of money to run.
Sami Callihan is one of DJ's best friends in real life. Last match was supposed to be at Proving Grounds, DJ asked him who he wanted to wrestle and Sami said DJ. A change in Sami's schedule allowed him to come to TOD. Not announcing what their doing with Sami because they're gonna do it Sami's way. DJ is fine with it saying he's earned it. Credits Sami for being pivotal in turning CZW around. (while he didn't say it, he basically confirmed Sami is signed to the WWE).
Glad and proud that Drake Younger is done with deathmatches. Says he still expects him to do some hardcore things here and there, but feels for his career it's for the best. Thinks Drake's star will continue to rise.
Drake says there are 4 things he wants to do in wrestling "Win the CZW title again, win the PWG title, compete in the 16K tourny in WXW, and win Best of the BEst".
Put over PWG, DJ also said he'd like to work with PWG in the future. Says the PWG fans "need somebody to hate"
2014 will be a huge year for CZW. A lot of done deals, but he can't(won't) announce them yet.
Going to UK working with Southside Wrestling, Fight Club Pro, and IPW UK. Put over all 3 companies. Fight Club Pro will be a joint show, while the owners of Southside and IPW will help promote a CZW show in UK.
Looks like CZW will be going to France for a few days during the tour, and might head to Spain.
Started talking about the World Triangle League tournament. Said WXW, CZW, and Big Japan will all be represented and there will be a few wild card entries.
Will work with WSU even more.
Put over Shane Hollister and Andrew Everett as guys to build around.
Says WWE is planning on signing 200 guys by the end of the year. Shocked at some of the guys they decided to pass on, but again confirmed that Sami and Samuray Del Sol are gone.
Adam Cole signing an ROH deal does not effect them. ROH does not want their guys working for certain companies, but CZW and ROH have a good relationship. AC, and other guys, have clauses in their contract that allows them to work ipps. ROH's schedule does conflict with CZW's so Cole won't be in as much. Hinted that he might show up at ROH shows as well.
Joked about difference is money. He owns CZW and Sinclair owns ROH.
CZW is looking to go back into the Midwest in the Fall.
On good terms with Quack right now, but has had some differences. DJ talks like CHIKARA is done. Says he's talking with some of CHIKARA's top guys about being booked with CZW in the next few months. Put over what CHIKARA was doing saying they were building something great. Loved their business plan and said they made wrestling fun. Said certain things changed those plans. Fully expects them to be back down the road, but not the same as they are now (hints that they will no longer be CHIKARA)
Switching to RF Video business wise was the best decision he ever made. Said Hybrident was the best production company and while they don't have fancy lighting or entrance ramps anymore, RF Video has improved the video quality. Meeting people through RF will help CZW grow, but said severing ties with Michael Pancoast was like getting punched in the face. DJ says Pancoast is welcome back any time.
Puts over Alex Colon. Said he's been phenomenal in the ring the last year and has worked his ass off. Says he deserves to get more looks around the indy scene.
Top 4 young guys in CZW; Colon, Shane Strickland, Andrew Everett, and Shane Hollister.
Jokes about Tournament of Death being at his parents' farm.
Booked Ron Mathis after Dean Ambrose called DJ and recommended him. DJ says Mathis reminds him a lot of Ambrose/Moxley as well.
DJ says he is personally entertained that Tommy Dreamer is going to be at TOD as Tommy has never seen any of the previous shows.
Only general admission tickets left. Doesn't care if people bring their own stuff just clean up so he doesn't have to listen to his mom yell.
Found 32 coolers full of beer last year at TOD. Said Danny Havoc was extremely happy.
Reiterates that this may be the last TOD show due to financial reasons. CZW isn't in bad shape, but over the last couple of years it gets harder to do because of paying for blood tests, getting 2 EMTs on site, and buying permits (mentioned that he has to get a permit from the board of health because they grill hamburgers and buy drinks for fans). If fans really want him to keep running TODs he'll keep doing it, but otherwise, CZW can make/save money doing other types of shows.
