Blimey, Con Air is pretty much still my favorite film. Avatar was boring - mainly because it hammered it's 'HUMANS ARE BAD' message over and over again. All humans are bad? Whatever message you think was hammered over and over again, you got it wrong. It's like you watched Transformers and concluded that all robots are evil. Huh? Except for the four or so science humans, the message was pretty blatantly "Humans will kill anything for a buck."

Believe it or not, the first Transformers was actually kind of warmly recieved. Then came the sequels, and well,, Also, The X-Men films. After First Class the first 3 X-Men films were seen as mediocre. One more is the Simpsons Movie. It was seen as excellent when it first came out, but now its lumped in with the current Simpsons as part of the decline of that show.

I had kind of a weird reaction to The Simpsons movie. I thought it was pleasant to watch and entertaining enough but far from great, and I expected people to rip it to shreds but instead everyone seemed to love it. Since I think people tend to underrate more recent seasons of the show it kinda made me happy that it was so well received. So basically I didn't like it all that much but I was really glad that other people did.

Also, The X-Men films. After First Class the first 3 X-Men films were seen as mediocre. I don't think that's true. The first two are still pretty highly regarded among comic book movies. The Last Stand and Origins are generally panned, but that hasn't rubbed off on the first two.

The Spider-Man trilogy which saddens me. I know 3 is horrible but the original is a pretty good film and 2 is still one of the best super hero films IMO of all-time. It seems like as soon as The Dark Knight came out everybody began trashing Spidey.

I get what he was TRYING to do, but Cameron was way off base about the likeability of his protagonists in that movie. I shouldn't be rooting for the militaristic psycho, but I was because I found the so-called good guys to be super arrogant and smug about everything. definite "designated hero" syndrome.

Haha what is there to be diplomatic about? People are invading their turf.

Its not really hated now, but American Beauty got a ton of attention and critical praise from audiences, talking about it as the modern "Death of Salesman".
Does anyone talk about it now?

Does anyone talk about it now? \ Does anyone talk about Death of Salesman? Well its still well regarded in the theater scene and hailed in the more arty circles. American Beauty by contrast seems to have faded from popular and critical memory.

the 1989 Batman was TEH SHIZNITZ for all of us "older" Batman fans who knew the Adam West show. We thought it was so dark and cool, though I remember having issues with the story even back then. Now it seems goofy. I do know it gets lots of love on this forum tho!

I like Batman and think it's cool but at the same time I also think it's a mess of a movie. When you call the move Batman no way in hell can you justify making the first 1/3 of it all about Arliss. No one gives a f*** about Arliss.

The 89 Batman exists in a weird place for me, because the Nolan films are clearly better, but I find the Burton film more interesting. Christian Bale is a tremendous actor who deserves all the accolades he gets, but something about Keaton's performance still draws me in. Nolan's Batman laid it all out and acted the hell of out it, but Burton's Batman has you guessing just what's going on with him.
