Matt, welcome back to Ring of Honor!

Before we jump to current day, can you give us any memories that stand out during your first run with Ring of Honor?

I could reminisce for hours on end. What I remember most are the emotions tied to the moments in my first run with Ring of Honor. I can still feel the anticipation and terror of try-out matches...The adulation that came with growing into a fan favorite, and the true pleasure of working with world class athletes and personalities. I have so many amazing memories!

When you left ROH to pursue an opportunity with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), was there a part of you that missed Ring of Honor?

Ring of Honor has been a part of me for more than 10 years now, of course I missed it.

When you were approached about returning, where you nervous? Excited? What were you feeling?

I was very excited. I felt a strong pull to come back to Ring of Honor. When the opportunity was presented I went with my gut instinct and embraced the challenge. I'm proud to be a part of the ROH team

What was your reaction to learning that your return to ROH would be a match against someone you are no stranger too, current IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles?

I realized that as long as I leave my heart and soul in the ring, the ROH fans will know that I'm back and I'm worth believing in. AJ is a great competitor and the challenge of proving myself against potentially the best in the world was one I could not pass up!

Any jitters before heading through the curtain?

The feeling is ineffable.

What were your thoughts on the match with Styles?

I liked it all until AJ moved as I was upside-down doing a Shooting Sydal Press. That was my least favorite part.

What ROH stars do you most look forward to facing off against?

Once I squash my heat with Cheeseburger, I would like to wrestle familiar faces and new ones. I'm not into picking out opponents. I prefer to react. That way I have no attachment to who I have to beat along the way to becoming a champion.

What are your long term and short term goals in ROH?

I will become Ring of Honor World Champion. There is no stopping this. It’s not a statement; it’s not a dream, its fact! There is no quit in this body. When the opportunity presents itself, I will be ready!

It's an ROH tradition and this year it's coming to Columbus and Toledo: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! The most historic tournament in Ring of Honor has been won by legendary athletes such as Bryan Danielson, Delirious, Tyler Black, and Jay Lethal. It's long been regarded as a critical step toward greatness in ROH and a huge accomplishment for whoever wins it.

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST begins with a round of Qualifying Matches. In the past, we've seen everything from singles competition to tag matches to Four Corner Survival qualifiers! But whatever hand you're dealt in your qualifier, if you can pull out a victory it's only the beginning. The final of SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST is an absolutely grueling Six Way Elimination match to determine most dominant athlete of the entire tournament!

Last week, ROHwrestling.com announced the first four entrants in SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST: Matt Sydal, Cedric Alexander, Hanson, and Roderick Strong. Today, we can reveal next four participants!

Joining the field for SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2014 are...

- JAY LETHAL W/ TRUTH MARTINI: The current ROH World TV Champion has entered SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! And not only is Jay Lethal a champion, he's also a former winner of this very tournament. That is an invaluable edge in experience that most of the other competitors won't be able to match. But Lethal has another edge this time around, too...Truth Martini! The House Of Truth stands together so there's no doubt Truth will make his own presence known as the night unfolds!

- CAPRICE COLEMAN: Speaking of an experience edge, few men on the ROH roster have the wisdom of Caprice Coleman. Coleman has made it his purpose to guide the younger athletes on the roster with his unique combination of spiritual and competitive motivation. He pushed his former partner, Cedric Alexander, to achieve his dreams and recently he's been motivating other young stars to fight against bullying. But come SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, it's Caprice Coleman's time to shine on his own!

- ADAM PAGE: One of the younger stars who has resisted Coleman's advice is none other than our third entrant, Adam Page. Page has fallen in with The Decade and become one of their "young boys." Constantly bullied and berated by Jimmy Jacobs, Roderick Strong, and BJ Whitmer, Page looked like he was breaking down. But in recent weeks, a different side of Page has started to surface. It looks like he's developing a bit of a mean streak himself! Will this newfound aggression help him survive Columbus and Toledo?

- ACH: the last participant to be revealed just had an amazing run during Champions vs All Stars: ACH! He managed to outlast nearly everyone and was the last All Star eliminated. But the FIRST person eliminated in Kalamazoo was ACH's current biggest rival, Jay Lethal - in just a few seconds by ACH! But ACH is sure to have the entire field of competitors gunning for him now that they saw how resilient he was in Champions vs All Stars. ACH might be the man to beat in SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 2014!

It's time for ROH to return to Texas! Each and every time we are there, the fans in San Antonio are some of the most supportive and enthusiastic on the planet! So we don't want to keep you waiting any longer. Today, we have some new information on ROH stars sighed to appear on November 15th and a HUGE match announcement for GLORY BY HONOR!

ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: JAY BRISCOE VS ACH

At CHAMPIONS VS ALL STARS in Kalamazoo, ACH outlasted nearly every other ROH athlete in the match. He pinned TWO champions in the match – TV Champion Jay Lethal and Tag Champion Bobby Fish. He made it to the final two, finally falling to ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe. But his amazing performance in this eight man elimination earned ACH a title shot. A WORLD Title Shot!

San Antonio is a special place for ACH. He got his professional wrestling start right there in Texas, building his name and reputation before finally stepping onto the bigger stage in Ring of Honor. And once he was in ROH, he had what most still point to as the “breakout match” of his Ring of Honor career right in San Antonio, when he and Jay Lethal tore the house down in front of hundreds of cheering fans.

Moreover, ACH is scheduled for to compete for the ROH World TV Title in Lakeland, FL on October 25th. That match will still happen, and he could snag his very first ROH gold! This means that there’s a possibility that ACH could head into Final Battle as a DOUBLE CHAMPION.

ACH has always said he’s fueled by motivation and fueled by the fans who support him night after night. And there’s no place more enthusiastic about ACH than Texas! By most accounts, Jay Briscoe would have the advantage rolling into November 15th. But while Briscoe has the champion’s size and experience edge, you can never discount the power of a psychological advantage. Every fan in that arena will be on their feet pushing ACH to win. Could that be enough to shake Jay Briscoe for the few seconds ACH needs to capitalize?

Michael Elgin, who worked indies around his home in St. Louis this weekend rather than the ROH show, appeared before crowds of 68 on 10/11 and 45 on 10/12. It was described that he almost had a breakdown backstage on the second night in Belleville, IL, saying he deserved to have more people watching him.

Legit question though is Michael Elgin really a big deal on the indies? Sure he had a lot of momentum 2 years ago in ROH, but he's one guy that is pushed in ROH heavily (the other being Mike Bennett) who really isn't treated as a big deal in the other big indies they work at. Elgin never really gets that treatment when he does do bookings outside of ROH.

I'm not even talking about on the level of an Adam Cole (whose a top guy wherever he goes), but he's not even treated on the same level of guys like Chuck Taylor or Biff Busick (at least with Biff on the east coast)
