The "for engaged, dirtsheet reading smart fans only" booking really has to stop. Take this week's episode for example. At the beginning of the episode, Lethal and Truth cut a promo that heavily references ACH's supposed backstage issues. No effort is given to put those comments into any sort of context. Later on in the show, Kevin Kelly randomly brings up Thunderbolt Patterson. Again, there was no attempt to educate the viewers about him or his relevance to the match at hand. All we know is that he was a wrestler and that Corino hates him for some reason. I get that they're trying to appeal to a certain audience. That said, they have to remember that not everyone knows as much as we do.

so instead of being focused on stuff like in-ring action, you would rather they waste time endlessly explaining every quick throwaway line, be it to someone's backstage reputation that has been brought up, discussed and explained multiple times in the 2 years he's been in the company, or just a random reference?

HANSON VS ELGIN ON THE ROAD TO FINAL BATTLE
Sat, November 22nd, 2014 - Baltimore, MD



At GLORY BY HONOR XIII, Hanson secured a huge victory for himself, winning a Four Corner Survival match. This comes on the heels of his impressive performance in SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, when he made it all the way to the final two and nearly best former ROH World Champion Adam Cole! The 2014 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT winner, Hanson has been making a name for himself and making the best of his tag partner, Raymond Rowe's, debilitating injury.

The team of WAR MACHINE swears that when Rowe is healed, they'll pick right back up where they left off. And Raymond Rowe continues to support Hanson, like in San Antonio - in Rowe's adopted state of Texas - when he came out to congratulate Hanson after his win. But he was followed by the unscheduled, unwelcome appearance of MICHAEL ELGIN! Elgin had personally enlisted War Machine as his chosen enforcers - but since losing the ROH World Title, it seems like Elgin is looking to blame anyone and everyone from his past.

And that apparently includes berating War Machine for what Elgin perceives as their failures toward him. He even attempted to pit the two partners against each other. But in the end, Elgin's unlucky cameraman was laid to waste and the former champion escaped War Machine's wrath. At least, temporarily.

But due to the fallout from GLORY BY HONOR, Hanson and Elgin WILL face each other in an ROH ring! Maybe pointed to this match as a future battle, perhaps even for the World Title! But Elgin's new "me against the world" attitude has provoked the giant, and now he'll take on Hanson LIVE in Baltimore! On November 22nd we might have to reinforce the ring for ELGIN VS. HANSON!

At last year's FINAL BATTLE, Roderick Strong, BJ Whitmer, and Jimmy Jacobs revealed their alliance - The Decade. They were the backbone of ROH and they claimed they were tired of watching others who are unappreciative of what Ring of Honor means while they flee to other opportunities. While their message had undertones of truth, their methods were less than upstanding. While preaching "respect" and "honor," The Decade targeted the young up-and-comers trying to make a name for themselves in ROH. According to the veteran trio, these "kids" needed to pay their dues the old fashioned way. ROH has ALWAYS been the place to see the next big stars in professional wrestling...but The Decade was determined to hold them down and make them "learn."

One of the bright young athletes targeted was Adam Page. A standout at ROH training camps, Page was doing all he could to find where he belongs in Ring of Honor. But one thing was certain: his future looked tremendously bright. Humble and soft spoken, Adam Page was a top prospect. And that made him a prime target for The Decade.

Page would succumb to the group's bullying, much to the disappointment of everyone who hoped he would stand up for himself. Instead, Adam Page became The Decade's "young boy" - and for them this meant degradation and humiliation in the guise of "paying your dues." As Roderick Strong made abundantly clear, Adam Page wasn't IN The Decade. He was below them. Far below them.

But over time, slowly, some started to notice a bit of a change in the dynamic. The Decade made Adam Page face Adam Pearce, their reliable old school enforcer. And as Page spent more and more time around BJ Whitmer, it seemed like all the bullying and scolding WAS having an effect. But instead of making Page more humble, over time it appeared that Page adopted some of Whitmer's callousness into his own personality! After months of humiliation, Page became a bit of a bully himself. And Roderick Strong had a bit of a problem with that.

As these problems in The Decade intensified, it seemed like a chasm was forming - BJ Whitmer on one side, Roderick Strong on the other. Jimmy Jacobs has frantically tried to play peacemaker, reminding them of their common goal. But maybe he didn't quite count on the "growth" of Adam Page. The fans (and others in the locker room) who supported Page from the beginning encouraged him to break free and be his own man. Well, Adam Page is a man now. And he's decided it's time to get rid of Roderick Strong.

Page has taken cheap shots at Strong, trying to distract and bait him. And Roddy isn't taking it lying down. It looked inevitable that these two MUST have a confrontation, but it was Adam Page who finally went too far. On the most recent episode of ROH TV, Page tore into the ROH Triple Crown Champion. And as he said, "I'm not your young boy anymore"!

Now with FINAL BATTLE on the horizon, RODERICK STRONG will take on ADAM PAGE live on PPV!

Jimmy is known for his roving traffic reports where he gets right into the thick of things and chats with construction workers about what's happening in Baltimore. And he's a HUGE fan of Ring of Honor! On Noevember 22nd, he's going to be in the corner of QT MARSHALL when QT takes on the mysterious, amorous ROMANTIC TOUCH!

The Romantic Touch is known for his...less than conventional offensive strategies, implementing gyrations and bouquets of roses into his matches. But Traffic Jam Jimmy is a pretty unique character of his own! QT Marshall vs. The Romantic Touch will open the night on November 22nd, so don't be late!

- CAPRICE COLEMAN & WILL FERRARA VS. CHEESEBURGER & BRUTAL BOB

In professional wrestling, sometimes it's all about who you associate yourself with. The right mentor can guide you to success though instilling values like humility and perseverance. Brutal Bob and Caprice Coleman are two of the most admired veterans in the ROH locker room for exactly this reason. They strive to pass on the wisdom they're gained over the years to the younger generation in a POSTIVE, uplifting way.

We've seen how "Brutal Burgers" has grown as a team, with Bob guiding young Cheeseburger along the way. Caprice has teamed and aided other promising athletes, most notably Cedric Alexander. Now on November 22nd, Coleman gains a new partner in ROH DOJO standout (and current thorn in The Decade's side) WILL FERRARA! The current ROH World TV Champion partners with his hired muscle, ROH's former head of security, J. Diesel. Diesel has sworn his loyalty to Truth Martini (and shown he's not above a little extra compensation for that "loyalty"). We haven't seen a whole lot of J. Diesel when it comes to in-ring competition, but what he's show so far has been vicious! If the House of Truth wants to put the world on notice that they are also a force in the tag scene, this is certainly the night to do it. But it won't come easy. This brand new team faces a difficult test if they want to advance - record holding former ROH Tag Team Champions THE BRISCOES!

THE ADDICTION (CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & FRANKIE KAZARIAN) VS. THE DECADE (BJ WHITMER & JIMMY JACOBS)

These two groups have had their problems and now they're set to compete in the opening round of TAG WARS! Only one team can advance to the finals. The Decade has been extremely vocal in saying that guys like Daniels and Kazarian shouldn't be able to walk right into title opportunities. Meanwhile, The Addiction are more than willing to fight for those title matches and they'll definitely have the chance on November 22nd!

This is a match that already has "show stealer" written all over it! The Young Bucks have established themselves perhaps as the most entertaining team in wrestling today - and they back up all their showboating with skill. But standing opposite of them will be a brand new team that seems a completely natural fit: MATT SYDAL & ACH! These four men are world renowned for their seemingly impossible athleticism. Only ROH is bringing them all together in one ring, and you need to be there live to see this!

BRIAN KENDRICK VS. ADAM COLE

In addition to this one night tag title tournament, we've signed a HUGE Ring of Honor return. BRIAN KENDRICK will be in Baltimore on November 22! And at TAG WARS, he's taking on a former ROH champion...ADAM COLE!

Adam Cole wants "his" ROH World Title back from Jay Briscoe - no doubt about that. But his focus on the champion hasn't stopped him from having show stealing matches against whomever lines up to face him. Like him or not, Adam Cole is an amazing athlete and turning into the leader of this generation of professional wrestlers.

Still, while most athletes would be humble enough to accept that mantle with gratitude, Adam Cole believes it's owed to him. He is THE face of Ring of Honor - obviously. And he's not about to lie down from some "weirdo" relic from the past like Brian Kendrick.

But the last time we saw Brian Kendrick in ROH, he seemed far from ancient. His athleticism and innovation is right at home in Ring of Honor - with some people saying he looks better than ever! If Adam Cole underestimates Kendrick thanks to arrogance, he's making a mistake. Kendrick's personality and style might be a bit out there, but his experience and ability are no joke.

- Tommaso Ciampa vs. Cedric Alexander: NO DISQUALIFICATION

Tommaso Ciampa has always been a loose cannon. Be it in the ring, on the microphone, or even in the locker room - he has the nickname of "psychopath" for a reason. No one is ever 100% certain what Ciampa will do next. And this was never more evident than just a few months ago, when Ciampa went on a rampage that resulted in his immediate suspension from ROH.

That night, after failing to win the ROH title, Tommaso Ciampa unleashed his fury on a number of ring crew members, ROH officials, and even Kevin Kelly. After drilling ROH ring announcer Bobby Cruise in the head and nearly ending his career with a severe concussion, Ciampa was immediate suspended from Ring of Honor. He's since been reinstated under what Nigel McGuinness calls a "zero tolerance" policy. And if he violates it by touching another ROH official, he's gone for good.

While thus far Tommaso has been adhering to the specifics required by Nigel, he's still erratic and unstable. And recently that rage has been taken out on Cedric Alexander. First, unconfirmed reports strongly indicate it was Ciampa who took out Cedric before the Honor Rumble, snagging a spot for himself. But there's nothing in question about what just went down on ROH TV.

The one-on-one encounter between Ciampa and Alexander ended in huge controversy and Nigel McGuinness himself had to step in. Originally, the official awarded the match to Ciampa on a submission victory when Cedric was unable to respond after three opportunities. However, the reason Alexander was knocked out? Not the submission - but he was choked out by Ciampa's illegal use of the tag rope while the official was incapacitated. Nigel, of course, witnessed this and stepped in to reverse the decision on Cedric's behalf.

But today we can confirm this rivalry WILL continue at TAG WARS in Baltimore on November 22nd! It's just been signed: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Cedric Alexander - NO DISQUALIFICATION!

Clearly, Ciampa intends to skirt the rules whenever he sees fit. But Cedric Alexander has proven himself to be competitive and honorable - and that can be a disadvantage when your opponent is willing to use illegal tactics. Now at TAG WARS virtually anything goes, so the playing field is wide open. This is going to be brutal!

When Matt Sydal returned to Ring of Honor, it was after a injury stalled his career and put him on the sidelines for months. There were whispers and rumors that Sydal had lost a step. That he wouldn't be the athlete he once was. That he couldn't keep up with the "new" ROH. Well, all those doubt were blasted away with one Shooting Star Press, proving that Matt Sydal is REBORN and ready to take on absolutely anyone in Ring of Honor.

But it's not just the fans who have had their eyes on Matt Sydal. Recently, it's clear someone else has been watching: Truth Martini. Never without his Book of Truth, Martini has evidenced himself a keen scout for talent. He is a manager of champions. Indeed, he is currently guiding ROH TV Champion Jay Lethal to unprecedented success in Ring of Honor.

And - it seemed - Truth Martini had taken an interest in Matt Sydal. We'd seen this before, when Martini convinced Matt Taven to accept his managerial expertise. A few whispered words and Martini evidentially made Taven an offer he couldn't refuse. Suddenly, Matt Taven was TV Champion. He was a fixture in ROH. A star. There's proof in The House of Truth when it comes to success and prestige.
But every Truth Martini offer comes with a price. He and his associates are not above resorting to the cheapest of tactics to stay on top. Would Matt Sydal be swayed in that direction to ensure his success after returning to ROH? Nobody knew for sure. However, it seems we got our answer on the latest episode of ROH TV.

Right now on ROH TV, Jay Lethal defends his TV Title in an absolutely must-see rematch against ACH! And Matt Sydal stepped into the commentary booth. After this incredible match, Sydal stepped into the ring. He offered Truth Martini a handshake. Was this the confirmation that Sydal had been swayed toward The House of Truth?

4) is AJ Lee's baby going to manage the Hardyz for the match? or will it be accompanying the Bucks?

I wrote some tweets earlier and it really made me think about many things. Things I need to say, to get it off my chest and out there. You can take it as you wish, but I hope you at least give it a chance.

This is heartfelt, and this is not from Michael Elgin the wrestler it's more from Aaron Frobel the person.

I understand that in recent months my reputation has been hurt. I also understand that some of it is of my own accord. So I publicly apologize for anyone I've offended or mislead.
I was sincere with everything I presented with my situation involving ROH, but we have come to terms so we can move forward. First and foremost I had to look out for my livelihood. My wife and I are paying mortgage on 2 homes as our previous residence has yet to sell. We have 2 pets and are trying to grow our family.

To address some things I know I need to, Twitter. It is sometimes fun to antagonize people, but I know I'm in a position that it isn't expectable to do so. So sincerely anyone who was offended or took my antics poorly I am sorry and you have every right to feel the way you do.

Before I address the other things I wish to, I want to give a back story. I was an obese kid who was teased regularly. My escape was professional wrestling. It was truly the 1 thing I could always turn to over the years. Whether it was an argument with a friend, being teased or a girl turning me down it was always there.
No I can call myself a pro wrestler, but first and most importantly I am a fan. I love wrestling on many different levels.
This is why I understand my wrong doings and how some people feel.
But truly I am one of you, I sat back watched every tv show, every ppv and every Vhs that I could get my hands on. I bought every action figure, hell I even video taped wrestling shows featuring my action figures.

So moving forward there are many claims and suggestions of my character. I realize that many think I feel entitled. In some ways you may be correct, but not because I feel I'm better than anyone, rather I'm better than I was yesterday or 1 year ago or 5 years ago.
At age 13 I was 315 lbs, I knew I couldn't wrestle at that weights I I started a diet. 1.5 years later I was 14 and weighed 180 lbs, also was about to begin training to be a pro wrestler. So I feel that my work ethic has proved that I am determine and this was all I ever wanted.

Another topic that people like to poke fun at is the fact I have not wrestler in Japan.
I have made it public I want to compete in Japan because I do. It's a goal and having that goal out there helps me work harder to achieve it. I am not jealous of anyone that goes to Japan. I am proud of them, it might be a lost feeling for some but we as wrestlers are all family. So every brother and sister that has had the opportunity to go to Japan my hats off to you. You have worked your ass off and deserve every good thing that comes your way.

I've addressed this in the past but want to go into more detail about it. The whole baseball thing was blown way out of proportion. Did I intend to do the open tryout yes, did it ever cross my mind that I would get offered a contract or quit wrestling for baseball? No, not once. Also, it was speculated that I wanted to tryout due to the ROH crew messing around at FOH. In some ways it was true, but it wasn't like out of the blue I like baseball. I was the one the got the game started, I wanted to play.
Before I played lacrosse Baseball was my sport.
In Canada sports are not a huge thing in school, or really league wise. The only league sports that were readily available growing up in Canada was Hockey and Baseball. I didn't enjoy hockey so I played baseball. Greco wrestling wasn't available to me until the 8th grade which I did take part in before I begin training in pro wrestling at the age of 14.
I had to give up baseball in Highschool and college because the coaches wanted me to chose between that or wrestling. I chose wrestling. I will always chose wrestling, with a more open schedule I wanted to set a goal for myself to work towards. I think most people will agree setting goals makes you work harder.
I had set goal all my life at 13 I set my goal to get ready for wrestling training. At 14 I set a goal to go from 180lbs-220lbs and I did. When I was told I would never amount to anything in wrestling I set a goal to be something.
Wrestling is my passion and the second most important thing in the world to me.

People are going to take this message in many different ways, maybe some of you are too far gone to give this any merit. Which if you are, the. I'm truly sorry I let you down.
I turn 28 next month which means almost half my life has been spent and has revolved around wrestling. Anyone and everyone who ever showed me support through my tenure I promise that you mean the world to me. I vow to restore my name and your faith in me as a performer and a person.
Nothing makes me happier then speaking with a fan and hearing about their love for pro wrestling. It means so much when you want some of my time, because I still remember being a fan and wanting nothing more than to talk to 1 of my favorites.
Without you I would not have been able to make this career. Without you I would not of been able to see places I only dreamed of. Without you I would have never been able to call myself a former world champion. Most importantly without your support I would have never continued wrestling, and I would have never meant the most important person in my world, and the love of my life Rachel.

In closing, I hope you take this as its meant. Because every wrestling fan (not just fans of me) that read this I respect love and cherish you all. Deep down I'm just as big of a fan as you, and I will do everything in my power to provide you with what you want to see from a professional wrestler.

f***, Elgin is 2 years younger than me? I honestly would have never guessed. Maybe the same age but I would have said a few years older at least. As for his statement, I could believe it but with everything that has gone on, it is hard to do (the stuff with ROH being settled, not the personal stuff). Whatever his situation, I do wish him the best. I rag on him a lot because I am not fan in the ring but he does have talent, you don't get to the level he has without it, and a family to support. And who knows, he could find something that grabs me and I could end up making a 180 on him. Wouldn't be the first time.


Also grabbed my ticket to their SA return in April. Be fun explaining to the family why I am choosing Ring of Honor over Easter with them.

Poor Elgin is in such a weird place right now. I've always considered myself a fan although I do think his act has gotten rather stale lately. I don't know how much of the recent stuff in ROH is shoot and how much of it is work, but I don't think they should have gone this direction with him. Turning him was a good thought, but trying to tie every detail of the VISA issues and ROH booking without asking and all that never really needed to to be dragged into it, Elgin didn't look like he was handling it all that well but ROH didn't appear like saints either so there's not a lot to invest in with this as a wrestling storyline and I don't know if he's any better now than when he was chasing the belt endlessly.

Agreed 100%. I think they need to make their shows altogether more accessible. There are ways to juggle both sides but I don't think they're doing a great job of it, your examples plus the Michael Elgin stuff. Like with Elgin, the VISA issue was significant enough that you could have worked with that, but to tie in every detail explained by dirtsheets is so unnecessary. I'm not gonna be upset if Elgin's baseball comment goes ignored on ROH TV.
