And I love the song, pure 80's rock cheese performed wonderfully terribly. the funny thing is, according to Word of God, Maddy Peters couldn't sing awfully on purpose no matter how hard she tried. In the end, they had to Auto-Tune her vocals to make it sound bad.

125 laps down, and Cherry Berry has caught and passed Sparkler for the lead! Fancypants is now in third behind them, but the green flag pit stops aren't too far away.

We have a yellow flag on Lap 132... Cloud Kicker spun Iron Will around on the back straight as she was trying to lap him. This now means that the field bunches up and pit stops will now likely be taken.
Mane Goodall has also retired from the race with gearbox failure.

Well, we have quite a bizarre accident as they've come in for pit stops... Surf has been squeezed out by Wild Fire, squeezed in by Mayor Mare and gone right into the wall. It goes without saying that she is now out. We've also lost Apple Cobbler in a similar accident with Lyra and Snails. This is just insane stuff right here.

Hmm, to be honest, I'm not that interested in the episode. For starters, I'm not that interested in CMC episodes most of the time.

Lap 150 and Cherry Berry leads from Shining Armor and Fancypants.
Unfortunately for Lyra (and Eunos), the crash with Apple Cobbler and Snails has severely compromised her race. She's been in and out of the pits multiple times since the restart.

No change in the top 3 as we pass the 200 lap mark of the race.

Hmm... I gave it an 8. Just out of personal enjoyment.

At the halfway point, Fancypants still leads from Shining Armor and Cherry Berry.

10/10, and I'm dead serious on this one. Unlike the last CMC episode that was just voted on, I actually like the way the CMCs are portrayed here. Yeah, they are holding the idiot ball firmly, but they are still determined to put on a concert on their own. I actually admire their tenacity and their desire to make an impact on the world, yet find the way their lack of maturity and self-actualization holds them back rather entertaining. That is what I love about the Crusaders in general, and before Hearts and Hooves Day came around, I thought this episode was the best portrayal of the group by a country mile. Throw in a hilarious Spinal Tap-sequence song and the Cutie Mark Montage (which is the most underrated moment in the entire show), and I can overlook the episode's long-talked about flaws because I enjoy literally everything else in Show Stoppers. Seriously, why does no one ever mention the Cutie Mark Montage? They get chased by a squid and assaulted by a card game, with that beautiful instrumental that was later used as Pinkie's party music. (Note: this was written under the influence of Ambien and NyQuil, in bed on my tablet. If it sounds overly defensive, there ya go.) This this this this. Agree with everything you said on here (except for the Ambien and NyQuil part). I'm giving this episode a 10 for the exact same reason that you mentioned. Yes, the CMC are portrayed as dumb in this episode. Well, maybe the reason they do here is because <Sam Kenison voice> THEY'RE KIDS!!!!!! Kids aren't supposed to be fully aware of their abilities until later on down the road! The joke is that they are obvlious to it, and thats fine. It is what makes this episode flow together. You can't have them realize their talent in the first season. The episode is built around that fact, and it works. If it didn't, roll credits after the few minutes.

Applejack has retired from the race with gearbox failure, the third of the race. That will have major implications on the championship standings.

We have another yellow at Lap 302... Lotus spun Mayor Mare around and was clipped by Magnum and Babs Seed in the process. Babs Seed had to retire as a result.
