It'd be really jarring to make a critically-loved indie movie immediately after making a critically-hated blockbuster. 1st film: giant thing threatens big city, only sexy young people and explosions can stop it. 2nd film: a guy who makes handmade wooden jigsaw puzzles for a living tries to save his failing marriage. I would start a forum war over sexy young person 3 being hotter than sexy young person 5. Several people would be banned as a result. ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is interesting. Taking the money would make you rich, but 9 out of 10 millionares end up broke and in heavy debt within a year, so would I receive further royalties? I doubt it. Also when my next movie bombs, Id be out of the industry and broke. But for the critically acclaimed option. Does that mean movie fans liked it, and would make it a cult classic years later? Maybe...maybe not. Even if said movie earns cult status, would I receive any royalties? Yes, take Star Trek, its made millions, decades after it was cancelled. So I will make the good film and go broke in the short term. And 10 years later emerge from my dumpster triumphant!!!!! I will appreciate the solid gold house and rocket car a lot more I feel.
