Yo, everyone. Took a while to get here, but out and proud bi dude here. Came out recently, so it's still new, but I'm cool with everything.
Except for the fact that online dating SUCKS for bis. I can already tell that that's not going to be a promising avenue.

I've been thinking of biting the bullet and doing the cliche solution: making two Match.com accounts, one gay and one straight. Apparently, if you call thier customer service and nag them enough, you can get them to charge you for only one account.

OKCupid is one of those that not only allow bisexual preferences, but also Omni and pan.

OKCupid is one of those that not only allow bisexual preferences, but also Omni and pan. Yeah, but I tried OKCupid even before I came out, without much luck. I want to try something else, and generally, with sites you have to pay for, it generally implies that the people on it are serious about looking for actual dates and potential relationships. And yeah, surprise surprise, I actually really am looking for some serious dating and potential long-term commitment. If I could get sentimental for a minute, I've been pretty philosophical about being bi, and although I'm satisfied with my identity, I can't get over the paradox between my internal mindset and my external social reality. On one hand, I've never felt more internally balanced and peaceful, and I've never felt more open toward other people before. I used to be so misanthropic and rough around the edges; I've literally become a nicer, warmer, more outwardly compassionate person since coming out. But on the other hand, between biphobia, invisibility, and stereotypes, I've also never felt so alone either.

So, I told the girl I've been dating that I have bi-tendencies (I'm about a 2 on the Kinsey scale) and she was totally cool with it which kinda surprised me. Also the only person I've ever told. And this post right now!

And this post right now! Thanks for being open about it. Good to see your GF has no problem with your tendencies, as honestly there is nothing wrong with having those thoughts at all. As for me on the Kinsey scale, I rate a 6 (though like I said, I can find women attractive, but I have no desire for sexual intercourse with women, so maybe a 5 in honesty, but I still feel like a 6)

And this post right now! Awesome. You should feel lucky that you found someone who won't judge you and think that you'll drop her for a guy at the drop of the hat. As for myself, I'm essentially an even 3 on the Kinsey scale. But it shifts and fluctuates. Today, for example, I feel like more of a 2, whereas other days, I'm more of a 4.

If someone is interesting, good-looking, fun, supportive, has a good personality, and can complement my own particular eccentricity and craziness, then there's romantic potential, regardless of if their male or female. Different people have both different preferences and, on top of that, different levels of changeability/fluidity. The Kinsey Scale is a nifty tool to understanding one's preferences, but at the end of the day, people like who they like, and they don't necessarily need a label to do so.

The Kinsey Scale has its flaws, not least that it treats history rather than desire as the main component of sexuality, as well as considering bisexuality just a midpoint between homosexuality and heterosexuality, its complete disregard for asexuality, etc.
But at the time there was such a binary attitude to sexuality that it was a huge leap forward, even if it doesn't hold as much merit today.

As someone who is bi just figured I would check in. Girl I am dating (that I have a kid with) is cool about it. She said she doesn't care as long as I'm faithful to her.
Some of my family knows and some don't. Living in the south there are still a good bit of people who don't exactly look too fondly on anyone who isn't straight. Is what it is I suppose.
I have an aunt that is super supportive and has basically allowed me to get things off of my chest.
