Wow a film so shitty that in 2013 Al Pacino isn't willing to slum it out for a easy paycheck. Incidentally, since he's not in it, it'll be the best film he's been associated with in the past decade. Let's be honest here, Al hasn't been in a good movie since Scent of a Woman. Heat was just okay, nothing extraordinary. The dude has essentially been coasting since the 70's, with the exception of a handful of roles since then.

Should've just got James Arnold Taylor. He does a pretty good Al Pacino impression.

What kind of creative differences can one even have in an animated movie? If it's because it's voice work then the dumbass should have known what he was getting into when he signed up.

I read this as
Al Pacino quits Dragonball Z.

No mention of Carlito's Way? He was very good in Angel's in America.

Hasn't been in anything good since Scent of a Women?
I direct your attention to Carlito's Way, Heat, The Devil's Advocate, Donnie Brasco, Insomnia, Ocean's Thirteen, and the HBO films Angels in America and You Don't Know Jack. Also, he directed the very good documentary Looking for Richard.
Yes, many of his best films were before Scent of a Woman (The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, Scarface), but I don't see how anyone could say he hasn't been in a good film since Scent of a Woman.

Pacino was great in jack and jill...Seriously.
But yeah what the hell could he have been so opposed to on an animated film? Maybe Al hates 3d animation?>

I should have been more clear, he hasn't been good in a movie since Scent of a Woman...he's just turned in your typical Pacino performance. I'll try to break it down a little more, and yes some of the movies listed are good movies. He sleepwalked his way through Carlito's Way, it's an okay performance, but it's nothing great. Penn outshines him...as does Leguizamo in his minor role. Let's not act like Pacino's role couldn't have been filled by someone of equal standards in terms of playing a gangster as opposed to; James Woods, Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, James Caan etc etc. I'm not criticizing Pacino so much here, because the role was something standard, which he somewhat fit the bill for. I still like the movie a lot, but I'm not going to get caught up in a standard role when the supporting cast works so much better. I know this film gets a lot of comparison to Scarface, and in many ways I do consider it it's superior. Heat is one of those movies I think gets far more praise than it deserves, which a lot comes down to the pairing of De Niro and Pacino onscreen (yeah, they were in Godfather Part II together, but they didn't work onscreen together) and just your typical heist scenario. Yeah, the ending was good, but I just never got much out of it. I'll admit that Mann is able to elevate the action, but something was just missing for me. And come on...let's not forget Pacino's "She's got a GREAT ass" line, it's laughably bad. The Devil's Advocate is a guilty pleasure, I'll admit. But come on! It's the Devil! Anyone who would plays the Devil is going to be entertaining, I mean it's almost cheating here, man! Okay...you got me, good performance and good movie. Nonetheless, it's the Devil. Donnie Brasco is another one of those movies that I feel that Hollywood would have a difficult time f***ing up. Pistone's undercover story would have been difficult to make terrible on the basis that the story is interesting enough. Still, it doesn't hold a candle to a lot of other movies of the same nature. It does it's job, but it doesn't do much to elevate itself above it's source material, the same way a Goodfellas, Bonnie & Clyde or dare I even say The Untouchables. Again, nothing bad...but under the right direction, it could have been a whole helluva a lot better. And again, it's just Pacino being Pacino, and Donnie Brasco as a whole comes off as standard, when it could be so much better. Insomnia; Great movie, typical performance. Also outshined by Williams and Swank. In some ways, I almost don't blame Pacino, because he's there to fit the bill of a performance, the same way that John Wayne was most of the time. I didn't like Ocean's Thirteen or the other Ocean's movies, and again...nothing really memorable here. I guess it's just personal tastes. Then again, outside of Traffic, I really loath Soderbergh's movies. Maybe I would have thought more of Pacino's performance if I thought better of the movie. I haven't seen Angels in America or You Don't Know Jack, but it's funny you mention Looking for Richard, because we rented that back in the day and accidentally came home with another movie which was just Richard III, which was released 1 year before and accidentally given to us instead of what we wanted. It took 40 minutes to realize that Pacino was nowhere to be found and this was a different movie. Also, one movie that I've always felt is Pacino's strongest work, that I never see anyone talk about, is Scarecrow. Maybe I'm just so spoiled by that performance, that I hold all of his others to that degree. Nonetheless, if you haven't seen it, check it out...a total contrast to EVERYTHING that Pacino is known for now. He should have won an Academy Award for that.

Frank Calliendo's impression of Pacino is about as spot-on as they get.
Also, on a side note, NOBODY GO SEE DESPICIBLE ME 2. NOBODY.
Remember: Al Pacino said yes to both "Jack & Jill" and "Gigli".
BUT THIS MOVIE WAS BELOW HIS STANDARDS.
