Blue Meanie is a bitch. He got shot on and went into a depression? C'mon stuff like that doesn't really cause THAT much psychological damage. Why agree to an angle with the guy if you were afraid and depressed? If he was legitimately afraid and depressed and he took the job anyway then he's a mark. A juicy WWE lawsuit would be worth more than any 3 month WWE run
As for the list I still don't know why TNA didn't send someone out there and have him and Sting call a match. I mean I think they had Flair at the time why not have Sting/Flair in a 10-15 minute match under the guise of Jeff Hardy backing out because he "isnt ready". He leaves with Bischoff (By force if need be) and Ric loses to Sting.
I think beating someone in a minute flat is a lot worse than Flair/Sting having a bad match with some length to it. It may of been hard to do all that though on the fly though so I shouldn't really judge the situation.

They had him go over JBL in exchange for no lawsuit
I mean in terms of a wrestling career, this random jobber beat a guy who was just WWE Champion a couple months prior so he probably thought it would do him good

The impression I get is that JBL is a massive bully, and the way you handle it directly dictates whether he respects you. Like the Dudleyz, that infamous alleged story about Steve Blackman at the baggage claim, and the Joey Styles thing. I think if you're willing to actually square up and pop him back, you earn his respect regardless of the fight's outcome.

A bit unrelated, but after seeing the number 1 pick, one of the comments at that video where Butterbean KOs bart Gunn:
"There is something very beautiful about this.
If you work out, are a big guy, or well groomed, you've earned the pride that follows from that. It's up to you to take it as far as you will if you want to be a douche or a show-off.
But too many people think muscle + ego = kick anyone's ass and do what I want.
It's nice to see just for a moment the world where logic beats ego.
Some fat ugly f**k just walked up and owned that huge muscled guy, because he actually knew what he was doing."

It's hilarious to me that Jeff Hardy didn't get fired for that.

Hardy didn't get fired because TNA likely had a lot of money ties up in him and saw more money in a clean up come back of a once very very popular baby face. That said if I'm in charge nobody gets a break like that. They get shoot pinned and their bags are waiting for them in the complimentary taxi.
Bash at the beach: love it or hate there are some facts that cannot be ignored. Some good and some bad depending on your position about Hogan and Russo.
Because of BATB 00's worked shoot that went shoot, Booker T got his break and is now in the HOF in part because of this night. Jeff Jarret stopped being the focal point of the show for a while. He went back to the upper card but out of the main event. WCW ended up on an upswing because of this(despite going under later). Lance Storm, wouldn't have been working main event championship matches if JJ has the title instead of Booker Guess who is still working and earning money in televised pro wrestling? Hogan. Guess who isn't? Russo. Love him or hate hm, Hogan is a gigantic reason pro wrestling is and has been successful. Did he need to step away? Yep. Should he have put over JJ? My opinion is no. JJ as talented as he is, is not now and never was a believable enough threat or perceived as a big enough star, to beat Hogan and look credible. I don't blame Hogan at all. He has to protect his own status so it means something when he does put somebody over. My best example is Goldberg. Goldberg's championship reign was doomed because the wasn't anything set up for him afterward to make him look good. It took along time for that to be realized because of how well he was launched. Bating Hogan did that. Goldberg was over enough and believable enough for it to make sense.

What's the story with Joey Styles and JBL? I think during one of their tribute to the troops shows a few years ago JBL was being total dick to him and then Joey had enough and punched him in the face.

What's the story with Joey Styles and JBL? he was being his usual prick self at Tribute to the Troops and he pushed too many of Joey Styles' buttons and the guy clocked him one. he was KTFO. musta been a humbling experience for him because it was the last time you ever heard a story about JBL being an asshole.

I enjoyed the read, but I wish they would have waited a day for posting it. I'm sure it's coincidence, but still. I DID expect this to be about Owen, Benoit and stuff like that...

The Hardy moment was just sad. Ya Hardy was a total F-up but it was stupid knowingly having a garbage match as your main event. They should've done some last-minute booking where Hardy gets taken-out and a sub or subs work the match against Sting. No it wouldn't have been perfect but at least a legit match woudld've taken place and folks would've respected that an effort was put forth to give them their money's worth.

Does Hardy have to die until people forgive him for that? I think the Andre Vs. Akira Maeda match is WAY, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY worse than Sting squashing Hardy, which I find actually amusing. People give Hardy so much shit, but the level of unprofessionalism in that Andre match is unbearable: drunk vs. douche in something I wouldn't even call a wrestling match. Over 30 minutes of pure shit.

Oh I forgave Hardy. But he needs to be forever held to account if for no other reason than to motivate him to stay clean and entertain fans. That ruined weeks of promotion, ended a PPV on a really bad note(hard enough to get fans to buy ppv), forced the rewrite of months of TV and ppv, likely hurt some locker room morale(but hey TNA's locker room morale is always low right? Ask the Internet) and instead of people YouTube or googling TNA victory road for a good reason, instead they get that...forever

I really don't see how anyone could feel sorry for JBL after he got clobbered by Stevie Richards with the chair. I don't feel sorry for JBL, just felt that Richards handled it like a bitch (mostly because it wasn't his fight). Granted, JBL using a ring brawl to shoot on Meanie was a bitch move too. Basically, all parties involved were bitches.
