I bought the first 3 issues cheap and really enjoyed them, enough to make it an ongoing purchase. I've liked the Detroit JLA call-backs (his handler, and his "girlfriend") too - some of the few callbacks that're actually working in the New 52. {Spoiler}His bro still being alive got an OH SHIT out of me {Spoiler}And basically at the expense of his other brother getting killed (or gravely wounded) a few panels before, no less. Artist is leaving the book shortly, though, which stinks (at least he's not walking off like other unhappy DC talent - he's doing the new Terminator series for Dark Horse with JMS) - hope he's replaced by someone with a similar style, or one of the several very good artists who work for DC who aren't, for whatever reason, on a regular series every month.

Once it's not JRjr it'll be fine.

Not at the "Kirby to DC" level, but given he's been Marvel-only for over 20 years and his dad is a Marvel legend for over 50, it'd be quite a ways up there. OTOH, it shows that DC is really fluid with their creative scope - especially with Superman. Morrison moreorless did his own thing on ACTION (I enjoy his stuff so I'm keen to eventually read it), several creative teams (including Perez and Jurgens) floundered and went away on SUPERMAN, the post-Morrison ACTION team is already gone...... Really hoping if JRJr takes the job, he'll stick around and they'll build things around whatever he's involved with.

The Morrison stuff is pretty good. Pretty much the only time I have ever been interested in solo Supes. I'm waiting patiently for Pak to start his run on Action Comics.(When's that starting again?) but it's like DC's determined to make me not read Supes. With what's his face writing the vanilla Superman title and JRjr coming in. I dunno.
Is JR coming in as a writer or an artist? Cause if he's just a writer I'll give him a shot. I REALLY hate his current art.

I REALLY hate his current art. There weren't any specific details, just that DC offered him a Superman book. I can't think of any big writers at DC who really have much room on their plate for another monthly but it'd be a neat job for any writer who wasn't so high-tier (Sterling Gates, Greg Pak, Kyle Higgins, etc). He had a creator-owned book for a short time with that Icon imprint a few years back, which he wrote and drew, but that might be his own writing credit. Also, if he goes to DC, I don't know if his longtime inker Klaus Janson would follow, so that could change the dynamic of his art quite a bit. I have Morrison's first ACTION trade, somewhere around here. ALL-STAR is one of the best Superman projects ever, so I'm anxious to get a start on reading this series. And I love Rags Morales' art too, so that definitely helps.

Are we thinking of the same person? I thought JRJr has a pretty good track record for sticking around for a while on books. He's just about to finish up a 10-12 issue run on CAPTAIN AMERICA. His runs do need fill-in stories & art now and then, but if given time he can bang out a lot of issues. At Marvel these days, they do tend to schedule certain higher-profile artists for shorter storyarcs so they can get more issues out. Maybe this gives the impression that certain guys only stick around for shorter amounts of time...?

Someone has been donating a bunch of TPBs to the Salvation Army store where I work. I recently picked up the Claremont/Miller Wolverine mini in hardcover format and House of M. And today we had Infinity Gauntlet, which I'll probably pick up if it's still there when I go back on Wednesday.

Plus the guy behind the Society - the Outsider, from FLASHPOINT, fyi - basically said Dr. Light isn't dead anyway. So really all this hub bub is for nothing, apparently. Although Madame Xanadu got blown the **** up. I suspect she'll be fine, since she's magicky and all - although from the looks of JL Dark's constantly changing cast, maybe not....... I don't think that is the Outsider. I mean he is similar but I have a feeling it is Joker. No f***ing way. I know this is old but there's no way that is Joker.

Is it safe to assume that someone will either die or come back to life by the end of it?

Hickman's a great writer but I'm beyond burnt out on crossovers at this point.

What at the time I thought it was some sort of alternate future Joker that came back with some other super villains whose world was destroyed and started the Secret Society. But now I like the whole Earth 3 Alfred theory.

So Marvel's new event Infinity starts Wednesday anyone have possible thoughts or expectations for this event It's mainly running through the Avengers books, which I'm buying anyway and the actual series itself looks great. The other tie ins are taking the DC approach of 'a banner, but they are stand alone stories' so I wont bother with the majority. Hickman is amazing and he's been building this story for a while, I love Thanos and cosmic Marvel and the Inhumans stuff looks really interesting. Definitely on board, 100% so. This looks like it could be the best event from Marvel in a long time, since Annihilation even (and I didn't mind Siege).

Hopefully it's more coherent and eventful than Age of Ultron.

Anybody read Trillium? I skipped it, but it's getting great reviews. It's making me wonder if I should pick it up.
