Call me crazy, but just scrap it and focus more on the TV title. I know the X-Division is vintage TNA, but it's identity is so ambiguous and so disagreed upon that I don't think it's ever going to work again. They will have a tv title ?

Vacate the championship, do away with the triple threat matches, make a new belt and hold a single elimination tournament with the semi-finals and final match commencing at a PPV. They should look into doing this.

I see a lot of people here talking about how good the X Division used to be and to be honest I agree that early TNA's X-Division was nothing short of amazing and it was for a really long time. Now the X-Division is very much a lower midcard belt that doesn't really mean that much anymore. The recent Aries title win adds something to the titles prestige but it seems as if he just wants to cash it in for a World Heavyweight Title shot and Sabin also wanted to do that before Aries won. It now seems as if the X Division Title is only competed for so guys can eventually cash it in for a shot at the World Heavyweight Title. So I'm going to give a couple of ideas on how to improve the X-Division and hopefully you guys will also. I feel some constructive criticism would be nice. 1. Get rid of the Triple Threat rules. I say this because quite frankly it's not needed at all. I enjoy a Triple Threat spot fest as much as the next guy but you're really limiting the belt when it's a three way belt only. Some fo the greatest TNA X-Division matches have been straight up single matches. This rule needs to be dropped. 2. More X-Division guys to challenge for the belt. At this point you have about 6 guys who compete and 3-4 others who are semi regular. I say bring Petey and Sonjay in as regulars and bring in more challengers. Free Agency pool is kind of rough right now but Paul London would be a good fit and I definitely think Kid Kash should be brought back. A division of Joe, Sabin, Aries, Petey, Sonjay, King, Robbie E, Chavo Guerrero, Paul London, Christian York and Kid Kash could be a "must see" division. There's probably a few really good indy guys out there who could add something also. 3. Get rid of the World Title shot thing. It worked well with Aries in 2012 when he cashed it in and won but that should be the end of it. Vacating a belt for the opportunity at another one does nothing but bury the belt that has been vacated. So that's my 3 suggestios. What do you guys think? How could the X-Division become "Must see television"? I agree with pretty much all the points. The Triple Threat stipulation can be kept, but... limiting the X-Division to gimmick only is does back the division into a corner. Absolutely drop that World Title stip, got that trashes the belt the worst. In fact, have the X-Title holder go over, or go to the limit with the World Title holder. Maybe, not with Bully Ray.

The worst times of the X division previously were when they tried to tie it into the heavyweight division. Make the new requirement anybody who has never held the big title is eligible. No Kurt, no Abyss, no demoting AJ or Joe anymore or if you need those guys to revitalize the division keep the Money in the bank aspect they currently have with it but ban previous title holders from being able to cash in. I think they could also just tie the gut check to it. Two established X guys and a gut check guy in three ways would be more interesting than what gut check is now. There was really nothing wrong with putting those guys in the X-Division in theory. It's just the practice of booking them so far above everyone else that made it bad. Abyss and Angle should've never been X Division Champion. But AJ, Joe, and RVD fit right in with working that fast paced, high energy, style. There's nothing wrong with demoting AJ or Joe to the X-Division. Those bigger stars can give the title a rub and make it look even more valuable just by having it or competing for it. Besides, if a guy like Aries, Joe or AJ isn't competing in the X-Division, then he'll either be hogging the World Title scene, or floating around in limbo, constantly beating guys like Robbie E and Jessie Godderz in throwaway matches that serve no purpose other than getting them on TV because they're too important to not be doing anything The thing is, if you're going to put these guys in the division, you have to actually seam them into the division rather than booking them to be above it. Putting these bigger names who are actually capable of wrestling the "X-Division style" is good as long as you don't "feed" the entire division to them.

. Revise the World Title Shot rule so that former World Champions cannot use the cash in. . Revise the Triple threat rule and merge it with Gut Check returning the open door policy to the Division, have the #1 contender decided by a triple threat ONLY with 2 established stars and 1 new star in the match. If the new star wins contendership they also earn a TNA contract. . Bring an international feel to it, like a continuous World X Cup. Have guys from Europe, Mexico and Japan appear regularly as contenders gunning for the X Division Championship. This would bring it prestige and the feeling that people from all over the world want the honor of holding the belt. . Have the X Division Champion main event at least 2 Impacts in a five week period whether that be one on one or tagging with someone in the main event to raise the champions stock. . Make Xplosion the X Division and Knockouts show with lots of interviews and angles from the top stars of those divisions topped off with a big match featuring some combination of the Knockouts Champion and the X Division champion and their rivals either going up against each other or tagging together depending on face/heel alignment. Also some advertising of Xplosion during Impact would be good, even if it's just a ticker tape during an X Division match to let people know the show exists, something like "See more X Division action on Xplosion @ www.youtube.com/TNAWrestling or on ImpactWrestling.com!" I have more but that should do for now.

Most of my thoughts are covered by a lot of people. -Get rid of the triple threat format. -Give them actual characters. -Treat them as important more than once a year. -Have multiple feuds. -Do away with the Destination X In The Bank stipulation. -Calm down on the video game wrestling.

No more defending the belt every other week. The X-division belt being defended and changing hands as often as it does really cheapens the title. If you want to put a title match on TV, use the TV title, save the X Belt for event episodes of Impact and give them some build up.
Let the talent have one on one matches again. I don't mind 3 way matches for the title, but every match being three way doesn't really benefit any of the lower tier guys as they lose and they're back to OVW/the indies with little chance to impress.
Have guest X Stars, big-ish names from Mexico or Japan making appearances for a month or so, having a mini feud with the title holder and the number one contender. WCW used to bring in guys like Juushin Thunder Liger and Konnan (Before he was a regular fixture) to shake up the light heavyweight division every now and again, so I don't see why TNA can't, given how they've had working arrangements with New Japan and AAA in the past... Heck, having international stars (Assuming TNA makes them seem like a big deal) could be a way to get guys like AJ to wrestle the X-champ without making it seem like a demotion.
Bring back the world X-Cup. I know they've done a pretaped PPV with the theme, but it's not really the same as there is no buildup and few of the names they wanted managed to get visas.
Have non title feuds and storylines, no more having everyone not involved in a title match dropping off he radar like Sonjay Dutt and Christian 'Captain Fanta' York.
If the crowd reacts to a guy, use them more. Don't put the belt on them right away then forget about them once they lose the belt.
Keep Hulk Hogan away from the division unless he's helping to hype a title match. His interactions with the X-division hasn't really elevated them, he's tarnished the biggest x-moment for quite a while by pushing Sabin to one side after his big moment, and I can't see that changing. Have multiple styles again, it doesn't all have to be high speed flip-flip-flip. Variety is the spice of life, and a high flyer being able to trade holds with a guy like Doug williams helps to show these guys are more than just spot monkeys.
Keep on bringing in Chikara guys for one or two appearances, they really do help to add colour.

I agree with these too. Just man, whatever happened to the World X Cup? Don't get me wrong, I also support "The X-Division: We've Got Bouncy Castles, Lasers 'n' Shit!" idea. Though I think the idea misses mood lighting...and Sin Cara. What the hell type of soundtrack would be played if the X-Division DJ was playing to a Sin Cara X-Division match? I meant other than the best soundtrack ever composed primarily of one very long record scratch.

Pretty much what everybody else has said.
Another idea is maybe have the X-division belt be the important other belt, the same way wwe has two main belts. The tv title should actually be the belt that gives you a shot to the heavyweight title(or the x-belt).

This is one time when they should just copy WCW. The cruiserweight division was amazing, and those guys were OVER. Just call it the Cruiserweight title, or X-Division title if they must but set a weight limit of 215 or so, and find some kick-ass international talent that wear colorful costumes and masks and whatnot. It needs to feel like a total departure from the rest of the show. And yeah, common sense, don't make every match a triple threat match.

Use more of their X-Division-esque guys like Christian York, Crimson, Joey Ryan... oh wait. Nevermind. Let's stick with Sucide, Kenny King and Sabin. Again.
