According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA informed talent last week that the company would no longer be paying for their hotel and rental cars. As you can imagine, this was a major morale killer coming days before the Christmas break. Some of the lower level talent only make a few hundred bucks per shot. This from a company that has $1 million ear marked for the VKM/DX challenge?
it appears that top tier talent (such as Kurt Angle and Sting) have it written into their contracts that they will have their rental cars and hotels paid for by the company. Apparently BG James threatened to quit TNA when he learned of the new policy, but it appears things have been smoothed over.
- Apparently a high ranking TNA official was question about this new policy, and the response was to the tune of “it’s not my problem.” Another talent was told that WWE has the same policy, and the wrestler responded “yeah, but they make money up there.”
- Another disgruntled employee was told the $1 million earmarked for the “potential” VKM/DX match would likely be donated to charity, and apparently this individual questioned if what talent is currently working for isn’t already charity?

Everything is Shelley. Shelley kicked a pregnant woman in the stomach, and she miscarried. True* story.
*not actually a true story

And Shelley is one guy who has been very open about saying he makes about as much as a teacher. He's not starving but he ain't getting rich. The only positive spin I can put on this is that TNA wrestlers are not traveling near as much as other wrestlers if they are just going to Orlando a couple times a month, but if the travel schedule picks up this will be a problem. TNA demands more and more from talent in terms of control of names and booking, but the actual compensation is bad.

Maybe that's when he says f*** it and goes w/ WWE. 500 bucks a week downside guarantee isn't too shabby.

I feel sorry for any of the talent that live in Orlando.
Cause all of a sudden they will have members of the X Division crashing at their house. Drinking all the beer, eating all the BBQ flavored crisps and making a mess.
It will be worse than a British backpacker.

they should have said "Hey, we're not gonna pay for hotel and rental cars, but if you only make "X" amount of money or less per appearence you get a raise"
They should have stopped with the WWE guys after Angle. There was no reason to bring in Tomko when you have other wrestlers already on the roster that could have been better.

I'm still trying to figure out who the top-ranking TNA official was that said "It's not my problem" (probably Russo), and who said "yeah but they [WWE] make the money up there" (possibly someone who worked for the WWE at some point, maybe Tomko but I doubt it)
Shelley did most likely say the last one though.
